Have u been to MK? Usually one man and his dog watching..thetomahawkkid said:
Both would be decent choices, but I can't honestly see either wanting to join Charlton unless they were out of a job and were short on options. Warburton would certainly want to be his own man and would not accept a role where his hands were tied with player recruitment. He would need a lot of convincing to drop down a league. The only reason Manning would come to us would be money, so that rules him out. If he leaves MK I would imagine his future would lie in the Championship in any case.ShootersHillGuru said:

Beale might be prepared to drop to League 1 to give himself the opportunity to be a number one rather than a number two.
Please God, not Bowyer again! Nasty bit of work with terrible man-management skills.0 -
Why would Neil Lennon be a divisive decision?9

he wouldn't be, he would be universally not wanted !!Chunes said:Why would Neil Lennon be a divisive decision?20 -
I must have missed all this... haven't really followed his career1

Was at the Valley today.
No potential managers spotted but someone who has had success with Orient on Football Manager and with Newcastle on the ZX Spectrum has applied in writing.
I've put £20 on him getting the job.16 -
Probably because we’ve a few plastic rangers fans. I mean who gives that much of a fuck if you support Charlton I certainly don’t. I don’t want him because he did pretty badly at each of his last three clubs.Chunes said:Why would Neil Lennon be a divisive decision?13 -
I prefer the green side of the Old Firm and I certainly wouldn’t want Lennon at Charlton. Last spell at Celtic was clueless and he has got worse since.BR7_addick said:

Covered_End_Lad said:Spoke to a friend of mine who is a season ticket holder at Rangers, he said this about Warburton:
"Good attacking football but no real plan B. If it wasn't working his plan B was do plan A better. Most fans didn't want him to leave when he did. Set out the team to be entertaining."
That was gossip about Warburton in a west London article I read, but if he thought the youngsters were good enough he would have played them.
Pep Guardiola only has a Plan A at Man City according to Kevin de Bruyne. May just be me but I don't find it attractive to do 25 passes and the ball ends up back with your own keeper. Mix and match to keep the opposition guessing. There are only good passes whether 3 yards or 30 yards. Two cracking headers against Shrewsbury which is still an important part of football until they ban heading. To not use the assets of Chuks and Jayden would be a nonsense in League 1. Get the fast striker to play off the shoulder of either of them.
Mark Warburton could be the coach, manager and director of Football and do the accounts and players contracts, that all on his CV. I love his story of giving up his well paid job as a City trader in his late 30's to follow his dream of coaching in Football.
Great story and he must have an amazing wife to give up one lucrative career to enter the fickle and precarious world of football where you need so many lucky breaks to get anywhere. The last 22 years says he made the right choice.5 -
That was me playing multi player soccer manager. However, I used to play 0-10-0 formation and would usually win 6-5, 8-6 or 9-0. Maybe it's the attacking football Thomas wants.Henry Irving said:Was at the Valley today.

Didn't seem to hold Curbishley back. I've seen video evidence of him launching a table through a brighton cafe window having it with some rockers in '79.SoundAsa£ said:
Going back to around 1966/67 I’d say, an old pal of mine who had come up through the youth team and was playing regularly for the reserves (as it was then), came to grief with the club.NomadicAddick said:

That’s exactly what we need! Another club legend, untried at this level.sm said:Has anyone mentioned Claus Jensen, done a pretty good job managing a small club in Denmark for the past two years, that may be near the limits of its potential and all the obvious connections. TS must know him - and he does like being popular.Although I expect you’re whooshing here?
Leg End.
And being caught out on dope testing as a yoof player.
He went down to Brighton or Margate for a weekend away clubbing it with some pals from the Lewisham Mods scene.
Biggest mistake of his life.
He swallowed some Doobs, Purple Hearts (SKF’s), I was never exactly sure of how the info got back to The Valley but sadly for him somehow it did.
Now this fella was clearly looking like he was going to make the grade all the way but he was history in seconds flat.
How times have changed!7 -
Perhaps the person he wants is still in a job and has to wait till end of season and there contract running downbromleyjohn said:I really thought sandgard would have the new manager in place by now. No one else could have the vision to see that as a possibility
Thanks Colin9 -
So ideally the majority would rather see Warburton or Beale in charge. So is the job role as a manager or as it appears to be a head coach if we say players are having contracts renewed and new players are signed before a new incumbent is announced.
In my opinion that would rule Warburton out and as Brownie said in todays SLP a young coach like Beale for example who would work with the players at his disposal.
If it’s not Beale then he will it in my view a young coach from abroad that we never heard of

Why is everyone so intent on being so depressive?
Thomas says we're going up, so I believe him.
When Zidane is our manager next season and we win the league by 30 points, everyone will be happy!2 -

It can’t have been easy when his team kept giving you a spanking on a regular basis.Shrew said:eaststandmike said:

I asked a QPR mate what he thought of Warburton.......he sent several texts......made interesting reading...
"He's good. You'll pass it around from the back and play nice passing football. He improves players and talks eloquently. On the downside we have had several runs of 6/7 losses in a row and the reason he left was because he didn't seem to be able to motivate the players to grind out a result when you need to. His calm nature then gets a little repetitive and his lack of a plan B can frustrate. He has left us in a lot better place than we were. He likes keepers that can pass out from the back."
"We lost 60+ goals from BOS, Eze, Nakhi Wells and Jordan Hugill and should've got in the playoffs regardless. He's worked miracles really. Our recent form has been catastrophic - far far worse than the bottom club so we almost didn't have a choice. All our players got injured tailend of the season and with AFCON destroyed us. That and we're on our SEVENTH keeper of the season. Unbelievable. The whole thing has been incredibly depressing. At a guess 7 points out of the last 42?"
"Calendar year of 2021 we were automatic promotion form. His runs are great when you're winning. Definitely a good manager to grab if you can."
"Last 18 games: W3 D3 L12."

Totally agree. I'd go as far as to say MK Dons were the best team in this league.SELR_addicks said:
Of the two I would rather be watching Charlton play like MK Dons than Wycombe. Bet most people would too.Scoham said:0
