Next manager - Ben Garner confirmed (p256)

There's a lot of names flying around right now. But one thing is for sure we don't want a manager who's been out of the game for a large period of time. Regardless of experience.
I would rather take a gamble on a L2 or L1 manager who's done well and has a point to prove.
I saw reports that Sandgaard wants a manager or assistant manager who has championship experience as the new boss.
There might be lots of applications but I can only assume 3-6 meet the expectations and experience of what is required. Compensation could also be involved. What is Thomas willing to pay if it comes to this?
There's lots for Sandgaard to consider. But what I feel is absolutely clear is we don't want someone back in like NA, we need someone who's really down and active within with the modern game right now.2 -
I think Warburton is a good choice and realistically probably the best we can do.2

The publicity Sandgaard would get would be something only someone like him could only dream of. Would go down an absolute treat with his American following and maybe even some of them would watch.
Never been done before and it's a new angle.
Got Sandgaard written all over it!
Clue is in the name really "The MEN's team".
TS will change the name to 'The Laddy's team'1 -
Braziliance said:I wonder if Sandgaard will be looking at Danish managers? Kent Nielsen is apparently doing very well in the Danish superliga for Silkeborg. Fans are saying he plays a high pressing 433. Has experience of English football playing for Aston Villa (quite some time ago in the late 80s), Danish fans saying he may end up being coach of the season. I also wonder if we have the pull to take one of their young talents with him in Sebastian Jorgensen. 11 goals and 8 assists in 28 matches, wages estimated between 3-5k, market value of 900k.If Thomas does want a Danish manager I do wonder if he could afford the wages of these top flight European clubs managers.Just thinking a little outside the box. After watching the Beale and Warburton YouTube videos I do think they’d both be decent options and I’d be very optimistic with either.0

Remember Gallen is a Celtic fan and he has a say in the selection.
Lennon would certainly not be my choice.3 -

Don’t worry, Cawley hasn’t ruled out me yet, but I’m going for the Kidbrooke Academicals job.8

Meltdown on CL if this is anything other than a sick rumour, c'mon Cawley put our minds at rest please...0 -

Kind of reads a bit like Lennon was a rumour possibly based on people mentioning his name on here or social media, Cawley hasn't had his name ruled out by any source so it's just added as a footnote just in case there is any truth to it. I'm hoping that's the case anyway.0

I haven't been through the 30 previous pages so he may already be there, but Matt Taylor has just brought Exeter up on a limited budget (and with what is essentially a fan-owned club).0
-
i know Sandgaard will never be fully guided by fan viewpoint but I really hope someone drills into him how much an unpopular and fracturing appointment Lennon would be7

I’m going on record, if popcorn teeth Lemon gets the job I will not attend any games until he leaves, regardless of any potential success (as if)1

I also can’t see TS and our fanbase having the patience to allow us to develop a style of play like MK Dons which consistently wins games if it’ll take a couple of seasons to get there. Great getting a manager like that if it works fairly quickly but we’ve got players under contract that aren’t suited to such a possession focussed style.
For me there’s nothing wrong with being a team who will play an expansive passing game when possible but are capable of grinding out results by going more direct or defensive when required. Will MK Dons do that if it needed? No guarantee they’ll be up there next season if it means Twine and others are sold, or Manning moves on.3 -
Are we really at the stage of waiting for applications and interviews.?
Thought he had someone lined up already?
If so, just shows how last minute decision on Jackson was.1 -

We're at the point where Sandgaard's selection of interview panel members is arguably as important as the choice of Manager.
If he decides to go it alone, Heaven help us. He is '0 for 2' to use US parlance.
So, who you gonna call, Thomas?0 -

Spoke to a friend of mine who is a season ticket holder at Rangers, he said this about Warburton:
"Good attacking football but no real plan B. If it wasn't working his plan B was do plan A better. Most fans didn't want him to leave when he did. Set out the team to be entertaining."

He's getting too involved in the running of the team.Talking about high press & defensive blocks like he knows what he's talking about. It's a worrying sign. The recruitment strategy worries me too. Don't think the manager has much say. I cant see the club progressing until he changes his approach & starts putting the team above his own egoWhy can't we just be a normal football club??
The same happened when I said his wife was too involved as well, watch this space on that one.2 -
Apparently Warburton leaving QPR is also to do with a breakdown in relationship between him and DoF Les Ferdinand. Warburton was told to play U23 players but he chose to play more experienced players instead.3
