  • Mair, Notts County keeper who was subbed on to face the pens was a Dartford player.
This always brings me back to Italia 90 and what might have happened if Robson had done similar, bringing on Beasant for an aging Shilton. Still a good keeper but his best penalty saving days were behind him.

I couldn't agree more and Beasant was always going to be a better shot stopper on pens.
I thought it was a master stroke to bring 2m tall Archie Mair on, who was fresh and had done his home work. Slocombe had a nightmare first ten minutes and it was a good and brave decision by the manager. Love innovation  similar to the Dutch in a tournament under Van Gaal. No guarantee but it seemed to give County a lift.

  • Congrats to Notts County for their return to the EFL. Delighted for them.  Things have changed a lot since they were here last here  though what with them only being the second oldest club after Palace now.
Justice after their incredible season as well.
    Also, a cracking day out.

He'll definitely get caught. There are high-res pictures of him circulating on Twitter. Surely a short prison spell is coming.

A man has been arrested after Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp was assaulted by a fan following the club's game with Nottingham Forest.

In a statement, Nottinghamshire Police said: "A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with this incident. He remains in custody and will be questioned by officers.

Forest have been fined £50,000 for the pitch invasion, half suspended.

  • Come on Luton!
  • Lively start

  • Ooo Sunderland have cause to be complaining about handball
  • Sunderland robbed there, clear handball in the area.
  • Good game this.
If Luton get into the premiership surely their ground is going to need some major works to be able to play there ?
  • Cracking game, VAR gives that pen all day long

Rumours of a groundshare with MK if they can't make the necessary improvements in time.

They not going to put in a dodgy plastic pitch and ban away fans like they did last time they were in the top flight.

Impressed by Ekwah in centre mid for Sunderland.

21 y/o, they signed him in January from the West Ham academy. Plenty of really good players that need game time in these Premier League academies.
  • Lockyer, who else, scores with a great header
  • Come on Luton!!
  • Charlton trying to beat Sunderland again!
  • He's bang in form... three goals in four games... Bonne would kill for that sort of form

  • Injuries appear to have fucked Sunderland. Wingers at full back, a full back and a midfielder at centre back, and it's showing. Luton are bullying them.
  • Luton one of the most physical sides I’ve seen in a long time, Sunderland can’t lay a glove on them at the moment

They've denied that. It will be a massive task to meet the premier league behind the scene requirements though
  • Can't help but be impressed by how Luton have outmuscled Sunderland so far. They are a real handful.

    What's up with Watford lol
  • 2-0 Luton

    Assist: Doughty
    Goalscorer: Lockyer
The stars of the future we got to see at the valley just like we were promised
Gutting to be honest. Two players who still should be with us if we were not in League 1. Doughty an academy player too. Shows you how wretched we have become.
It’s alright, we’ve got Chuks Aneke, and Jacob Roddy.
  • 2nd half will be cagey do Luton stick or twist.
  • Sunderland have to go for it of course.

In fairness Sunderland do have O'Nien as a makeshift centre back and he looks about 5 foot 6.
