"Incredible!. I was so worried he was going to forget to say “Bosh” after the half way mark, but he didn’t. He said Bosh for every country. He didn’t forget once!"

So have I got this right re corners?
If the ref gives a corner and it clearly isn’t, VAR can intervene and overturn.
BUT if a ref gives a goal kick when it clearly should have been a corner, VAR aren’t allowed to get involved.

Who the feck thought that shit up?

Enjoyed RTÉ commentary, although Ritchie Sadler clearly has the hump about the officiating and the standard of some teams.
Any time I read about an Irish compere, I can’t help thinking of the fella in the Father Ted Eurovision episode.

Even though Sadler is an ex spanner, I think he’s excellent on all subjects, not just football.

Think Canada will scrape a win tonight against BH, and think the USA will be frustrated by a draw against Paraguay. I can't see a team with Tim Ream and Miles Robinson/unfit Chris Richards keeping a clean sheet.

Saw this online and thought it worth sharing on here.

Which team has the best midfield trio?

    England: Rice, Anderson, Bellingham
    Portugal: Vitinha, Neves, Fernandes
    France: Tchouameni, Rabiot, Cherki
    Brazil: Guimaraes, Casemiro, Paqueta
    Spain: Pedri, Rodri, Fabian Ruiz

I think I know my choice but wondering what the brains on here are saying.

    For me:

    1. Portugal
    2. Spain/England (Not anything between the two really)
    3. France
    4. Brazil

I made my own fixture list in local time here in Alberta as everything I could find that was published was in the wrong time zone. There's probably lots more options available in UK time, but I converted it to BST for my Dad, so might as well share it here too in case anyone finds it useful. There's one organised by group and one by days.

If it's helpful, I'll update it as each knock out round gets confirmed and reshare.

For those who like a spreadsheet!

This is a nice way of seeing the kick-off times, by date rather than by group.

And if you take a copy of the sheet, the first tab enables you to change the time zone and also filter by country.

For current form, Portugal. Neves and Vitinha play together every week for an all conquering PSG, and you add a Fernandes that's just won POTY in the Premier League, setting a new assist record, for a club that for the first 3 months of the season were absolutely dog. If they were feeding Rafa Leao, Felix and a prime CR7 they'd be runaway favourites for this cup. As it stands I think their strike force will let them down in the games that matter

Thomas Partey ruled out of Ghana's first game in Toronto next week, after Canada refused his visa request.

Was going to be tough for him to get a visa. 7 charges of rape made against him which he is yet to stand trial for.
