Stockley is playing in a system that doesn't suit him. Garner apparently watched videos of last season's games so must have seen that Stockley does not suit his system and he must have known of Chuks difficulties and didn't attempt to recruit a striker until just before the window closes, guess the T&MS know better
In which case why didn't Garner push harder for a Striker to replace Stockley - All the players signed appear to be his choices, so if he knew that JS was so limited he should have pushed for him ahead of others who aren't starting.
Do we know how hard he pushed? Serious question. For all I know he was begging for one on bended knee. Awful first half btw. Need to switch things around a bit in the second half.
It's not great for sure, but we knew it wouldn't be a good performance after that transfer window deadline day
People being disappointed about us losing and falling to 13th in L1 is not an over reaction. You are allowed to be disappointed. It is part of being passionate about your team.
when will we ever get a decent manager who will pick a team and a system that will make it difficult for the opposition.
If it’s not working have a plan b for fucks sake.
Go and Google all the top managers in the premiership. Google their name and ‘plan B’, and see what comes up and report back here thanks.
No comparison. They get the players they want to suit the plan.
We have to make do. We're playing against a team that likes passing football who are at home with a big crowd. Therefore bang the ball up and then across into the mixer as often as possible with our big lump to head it and cause a nuisance. Get the others to pick up the scraps and bang it at the goal. Put them under pressure.
Meanwhile, out of possession, undertake some of the unsettling tactics that our peers in the bottom half of the third division do to us at home.
Football's a simple game and sometimes we make it too complicated.

Okay, but when Santos and Jones double up on Stockers, who else is going to get on the end of crosses into the mixer? Albie? JRS? Kirk? Football is more complicated than many people realize. We're not a team built to get it wide and put loads of balls in the mixer. We tried that with Jacko. We weren't good at it.

Offside, Charlton Athletic. Scott Fraser tries a through ball, but Charlie Kirk is caught offside.
