I thought Portsmouth were the better side 😉21

Unbelievable performance today. Haven’t seen a Charlton side that committed in a very very long time18
-
As close to a complete performance you will see
Portsmouth have a very strong team, Pack, Dale, Bishop, Ogilvie, Curtis get in most sides in the league and we properly attacked the game. The deliveries in the final third were quality and Charlie Kirk I was delighted to see have the game he did, I think he can expose his full back a bit out wide in a 442 but in that 10 role I see no reason why he cannot flourish
Jayden Stockley also deserves credit, he worked his balls off tonight as did Scott Fraser
Winter isn't here yet and we have the inevitable player absences but, but the last two games have been exactly what the club needed and all of a sudden people are feeling better23 -
Absolutely no chance we’ll beat Portsmouth.7

Decent performance. While our squad has an obvious weakness up front, we were clearly underperforming and desperately short on confidence. That first win in ages last week was essential to turn around the spirit.
Been impressed with Fraser since we went to a 2 in midfield, he's been a lot more combative than I was expecting, and is now showing his quality on the ball3 -
Have some of that!1

Can I just ask a practical question at this point?
Where are the goals going to come from?14 -

All they really had was double up on the full back, ping a diagonal and hope to create something off a flick on.It can and has clearly worked for them, but they’ve got some real ball playing talent in their squad as well which was just not utilised at all.2 -
“How sh*t must you be, we’re winning on Sky!”9

Would like to see that 11 start Saturday. Kirk seemed like a revelation in that 10 role and a fantastic assist from him to boot. Thought Scott Fraser finally looked like the player we were expecting to get and really ran the show.8

They were shit, based on that performance how are they that high up in the table?0

Fair play Cowley... Isnt whinging about refereeing decisions
Doesnt care about the foul on Morrison or "penalty" appeal, just what actually happened22 -
That castore hoody colour is beautiful.0

Have to say Garner’s a proper coach. Despite not being given the team I’m sure he was promised, he’s shuffled the pack constantly and shown a flexibility that could hopefully see us drinking play-off champagne at TS lemonade prices 🤞🤞🤞3

Leuth said:Also, we've found two amazing things. A centre back pairing and a central midfield pairing the equal of anything in this division. Keep those four fit I pray. They ran it all for us today11

Refreshingly honest assessment from Cowley after the game. He felt sorry for the 2,000 travelling fans, blamed the performance of the players and refused to even talk about one or two decisions that might have gone against them let alone blaming the Ref for them. Has gone up in my estimation.28

Interesting that all 3 of our bookings were for fouls on Mingi.1

I called Kirk alongside Stockley as soon as the team was announced and I thought he was outstanding. What I like about Charlie is that practically every pass counts. Not only that he nearly always chooses the right pass. The ball for CBT to score was inch perfect, so many of our players pass behind the player or the player has to stop to take a touch. Near the beginning of the second half when the keeper had to make an excellent save from CBT the ball from Kirk was right into CBT's stride and that allowed him to cut inside, advance and shoot. Charlie won't be many fans MOTM but he was mine.
The centre backs are a decent pairing so let's hope they can stay fit. Fraser and Dobson have a great understanding and compliment each other well. Everyone put a shift in but I thought Egbo very poor tonight.
If we can strengthen in January we could make the play offs.23 -
Sessegnon and Egbo essential to our success. 2 in the middle just works so much better for us than 3. I’m a self professed Stockley hater but I thought he had his best game of the season tonight.5
