Peter Varney asking for big crowd for Brighton match (Potential Buyers?)

  • Got a reply back from the club. As of today, they're still deciding whether to run coaches. If they're waiting on ticket sales, by default it won't include one, maybe two, from me. The most likely outcome is something else fills my diary before they get around to making a decision.
  • And the Doncaster Semi final.
And the Leeds game in the Championship considering 1000s were boycotting...
  • I don't do midweek matches, due to having to drag my sorry arse out of bed at 3am. I would normally make an exception for a big game, but not this one. We're on a hiding to nothing with this rabble of a squad and I'll take no pleasure in seeing us destroyed by a Brighton B team
  • Varney needs to allude to why he wants us to be there. Especially after today.
    It’s pretty obvious isn’t it?
  • Wtf is going on at Charlton? What is TS up to?

    Trying to make us unsaleable?
  • That’s one less that’s one less in the stadium now…..

Not going, wont be going again until there is real positive change.

Varney is out of touch if he thinks one game will sway a deal.

Is he getting Roland on board to make sure he does not kill any “deal” with stupid pricing demands for the Valley?

Deals are done and then announced and not by getting fans to waste our well earned cash on the TS shit show on some half promise by a long gone official of a long gone CAFC.

If TS walks away, we will go into administration and then a buyer might come in, but in that event, RD will kill any deal because he will want, let’s say, £75m for the Valley and Sparrows.

As I said, its a shit show.

It’s a cup game, it’s £15, it’s against prem opposition. Why wouldn’t you go ? Can’t believe Charlton have so many glory boy fans, bet you’d go if we get to the final …
Surely going to see a Prem team in the cup makes a current non regular a glory boy …. Not going means you’re totally fucked off with our shithouse club
You are right - I’ve been pissed off since we sold Parker to Chelsea

    Is it? Honestly?
  • More important than ever to line the pockets of an owner taking us into the ground?

I would hope any potential owner would just watch a video of the play off final if they want to see our potential.
I feel like you're just using any excuse you can not to go at this point

@_PeterVarney do you have any comments after what has happened at cafc today? Is the message still to turn up at Brighton? #cafc

Absolutely! More important than ever. I appreciate some fans are unfairly questioning my motives but as with the situation back in 2011 my only interest is the club which has given me so many good memories for the last 62 years.

after the shitshow of the last ten years I dont think it's at all unfair to question motives, no matter who the individual involved. I cant think of anyone in whose motives i would have more faith than PV when it comes to the ownership of the club, but not to question them in the light of recent history would suggest no lessons have been learned. A bit of clarification wouldnt go amiss.

I heard he’s taking a group of millwall care in the community characters and he doesn’t want them to stand out too much in a half empty stadium - if they like what they see their gonna sign up for a half year season ticket funded  by millwalls community programme - could be the turning point for us

Not really, I just think it's a pretty meaningless gesture that only really benefits Sandgaard who will pocket the extra income.

Any intelligent potential owner doesn't make a decision based from a few extra thousand in a ground during a game while the club is at their lowest point in years.

Well future investors or potential new owners are expected to be there aren't they? The football might be dire, but you'll get the chance to see who's in the directors box, with nothing guaranteed either on or off the pitch. £15 a ticket if you're interested.
  • Sorry Peter, it’s going to take a lot more than a cryptic message to convince me to spend my hard earned on this shower of shit at the moment.
Just a blip at present ...

I thought he was losing money every month. I didn't realize he was making money and pocketing it? Anyone who looks at a one off play final game on which to base their judgement is deluded. That's probably what TS did and why he got involved with us.

The quickest way to get TS out is to reduce revenue, wait for him to run out of money and get desperate to leave.

All we have is a cryptic remark that's generated an expectation.
I can't go anyway for health reasons, but this wouldn't get me there.

But he can’t just “leave”, he has to sell to someone else if the club is to continue in existence. Forcing Sandgaard’s hand is more likely to lead to a Southall than a sheikh.

We have to get a decent owner eventually. I wonder what league we'll be in by then?

Exactly - I don’t doubt he wants out so protesting isn’t going to achieve much really other than see him leave us with a legacy of as much shite as he can - like RD did
