The only way I can see us paying money for anybody is if we get money in for somebody, or somebodies. I reckon the Manchester United Varney dividend is already earmarked for liabilities and debts. So we are most likely to be in a weak position, looking at this, looking at that, and hoping something materialises. I reckon everybody on the football side knows what is needed, but it is likely to be who is available more than who do we want.
Nicko says on twitter to expect no incomings until the takeover is sorted. I don't have access to his patreon or twitter account though so it's heresay.
Perhaps players in will only replace players out at this time? If that's the case, don't expect any major improvements.....

A loan for a young kid would hardly break the bank, or require the sort of financial commitment that only new owners would stump up for.
I only posted the Nixon thing as he is saying what seems sensible but not saying we aren't trying to do business. Basically without a takeover signings are unlikely but not definitely off the agenda.
One week in and the only talk is about players leaving not joining.
Investment, what investment?
Which ones are you bothered about though? You were continually slating JFC, everyone criticises Mac and earlier today you said you wished "Garner had the guts to dump Stockley like Holden" has.
We've got 3 keepers so Mac isn't needed. JFC barely played and Stockley has done nothing. When one of the main players leave it's more reason to be concerned but not the players who have been linked away.
@cafcfan1990 if you think getting rid of three or four players currently with our injuries makes sense without getting replacements in at the same time or you know what, BEFORE we let players go then in my opinion that is suicide.
The squad was light already.
JFC, Stockley, Mac (played yesterday!), Kirk - despite their limitations will all be needed between now and May to keep us in this division if we don't get replacements.
This is a tried and tested path we've been down before and why blind faith is installed I have no idea.

I think the concern isn’t about offloading fringe players or those out of form. It’s that we’re a paranoid fanbase after the years of chancers, special phones and all the other rubbish. The word on the street was we’d be active in this window. We’ve also heard that this the new takeover lot might be looking to slash costs.
So when you only see exits and no incomings (yes, just a week into the window), mixed with the paranoia from years of terrible ownership, the reaction understandably from some is ‘one week in and no signings, something’s not right’ and ‘investment, what investment?’
We’re a damaged, untrusting bunch. And who could blame us after the years of lies and neglect

Even ESI managed to bring a few loans in.
I asked after seeing the post earlier and was told no

"Wait and see"
"It's only X days into the window"
This has been trotted out for the last 3 windows.
We have every right to be sceptical of our owner!
