I've never been a fan of Sam Curran playing for England. Roughly a year ago, I held my hands up and announced I'd misjudged him and he had turned into an excellent player.
It's been downhill ever since. I'm back to loathing him (as an England player, not as a person).

At least Curran showed some resistance with the bat. With the ball, he is suffering from a severe bout of predictability combined with a lack of confidence in his own execution once a team starts to get after him.
We have lost 10 of our last 13 matches with our only wins in that time against Bangladesh, Netherlands and the once against the Windies - the first two finished with the lowest number of points in the WC and the Windies didn't even qualify - that win is the only one of five against them on this tour too. Buttler has contributed in no small way to that with a bad case of the "befuddled brain" leading to poor decision making that has also served to affect his batting (197 runs in those 13 matches at an average of 16.42).
Not so long ago we were talking about us being not just world number 1 in white ball but able to put out not one, not two but possibly even three competitive sides and the one that played today averages more than a hundred white ball internationals. Something has to change but I'm not sure quite what and although I have no doubt that our results will improve on home soil, the real acid test will be the World Cup next year. Possibly a rest will make a difference but that does mean managing the playing time of those players and especially the ones that are centrally contracted.
Woke at 4.30ish so decided to watch England Women score a remarkable 475 or so to win the one off 4 day test match in India ! 27-0 when I started watching and convinced that Tammy Beaumont would emulate her 200 against Australia 🦘. Wrong: she was out in the 1st over I was watching and England lost 10 wickets in the extended 1st session and scored 104 runs (while I was watching)in a poor batting display while India were supreme in their own back yard whether seam or spin. Biggest defeat ever in a women's test match by 374 runs.

I've got a bad feeling about Barnsley 😱
Don't worry, I doubt the England woman's team will be back in time to play Barnsley

That's a shame as the lovely 6ft 1in blond that is Lauren bell and ex Reading youth player could be an asset to play at CB or fill in for Leaburn as Central striker.
There doesn't seem to be an obvious new captain for white ball , I know Ollie Pope is the red ball VC but I don't see him as a regular white ball player.
All for Morgan as a coach! Have always thought that's where his future lies not punditry
A fantastic 31 off 7 balls by Brook helps us in no small measure to win the game by 7 wickets with just one ball to spare. Salt finishes on 109* off 56 balls.
I have said it before but if we are looking to replace Buttler and to the future then we should give the captaincy to Brook. He should be one of the first on the team sheet, has captaincy experience at international level and is an old head on relatively young shoulders. It would also ensure that he isn't disappearing to every T20 tournament going.
Was watching the Strictly final, so not really paying attention to the England innings. When Brook came out to bat, it looked a long shot for us to win.
That was a crazy slog feast which really didn't seem possible for England to win after the Windies 20 overs and mammoth score. 16 sixes for Windies and 18 sixes for England ! Salt was immense and Brook is such a cool dude to score 31 from 7 balls including a 6 off his first ball faced.
Watched the highlights on YouTube, what a talent Harry Brook is in all formats. To go out there with the game on the line against an experienced Windies attack with Russell,Joseph and Holder and just make it look so effortless.

How we've gone from Champions in both 50 and 20 over formats to being beaten by teams that didn't even make the WC is startling.
Strong competition Curran, Mills, Livingstone, Atkinson.

Oh me of little faith.....
