@oheddieyouds any idea where in the away end they're allocated? Can only see what appears to be a section in the corner for home fans when the home lot were put in.
I don’t know exactly where the away standing area is unfortunately mate.
All I know is that Old Trafford now has 1519 standing tickets in the home end and 571 standing tickets in the away end.
Im about to buy tickets now, but its only showing options to collect at the Valley or to have them posted. The original update on the website said they could be collected at Old Trafford? WIll I need to ring the club to sort that?
Just spoke to the club and they said that if they haven't turned up then you can call them and they can cancel the posted ones and arrange for you to collect them from Old Trafford. Not an option at the moment as they are confident that tickets will arrive in good time.
I live in Ireland so that seems too great a risk. Will give them a call tomorrow to see if I can organise collection at OT. Thanks.
Am I correct in saying there hasn’t been any coaches confirmed for Kent area yet?
Hi @Bigfatpete. I emailed the ticket office and said I would be interested if they ran coaches from Kent. They said its under consideration and they would let me know. Not seen anything yet. I'm not buying unless coaches confirmed.
Frustrating. The coaches come from Deal. I did point out that it makes no difference how many Kent bookings there are because you can fill them up at Dartford or Bexleyheath. They should not be paying any more from the coast.
I suggested 12.30 from all the main pick-ups except Bromley, which would be earlier, with the VEX pick-ups timed back from there. Hopefully they will be able to make decisions tomorrow.

It is indeed frustrating. I see they have a coach from larkfield, does anyone know if the Car park by the stop is available to park for the length of time required? Have done a google but cannot find info on it. Thanks.

I'm assuming that the initial allocation of tickets we are given will be seating only.
Iirc we could he given a further allocation if we sell out our 7400. I doubt we will sell out so this extra application, which could be the standing area, might not be used.
Playing one of the biggest clubs in world football and some fans can't work out why so many others are so keen to attend.
This is just what happens when a football team is successful. We haven’t had it in so long that many have forgotten what it’s like, some of the younger fans may never have really experienced it. If we got back to the Prem one day you would have about 15,000 additional season ticket holders who didn’t tough out through these years in the dulldrums.
All saying how they followed us all their life Like what happened when we went into the prem Competing against each other on who was more a Charlton fan jokers you either support us or you don't simple as that
Very simplified view that.
I went religiously from 1985 traipsing across to Selhurst and Upton Park until 2010 when my first kid was born. Priorities change, life changes. Hard to go to games when you are ferrying kids around to their sports clubs etc on a Saturday. Am I going Manchester, no. Would I get a season ticket in Prem?, probably not, unless my kids showed more of an interest in Charlton but I dont think you can slag off those who did start going as we got my successful.

Slagging people off might be a bit much, but I can relate to people who are putting in the hard yards feeling resentful of people who suddenly turn up when the going gets good again.
Given that we just won our first league match, in the third division, for months yesterday we probably don’t have to worry too much about any of this for a while though!

Man United in the 1/4 finals and "under consideration", ffs.

Isn’t that the point though. We’ve all put in the hard yards a while ago but for various reasons can’t now. Doesn’t mean though that because I missed just a couple of away games over a seven year period back in the early 2000’s that I should be entitled to first dibs now. However, why does the loyalty points system only cover a two season period or did it only start then? If not surely if you have had a season ticket for five years it should give you priority over those who have had one for only two?

It's a rolling 2 year scheme. There has to be a cutoff somewhere, and the system to me seems a fair compromise in rewarding the most recent attendance without making it just the current season which would be too short.
Otherwise you'd have someone with a ST for 3 seasons being ranked higher than someone with a ST for 2 season who had also been to lots of away games.

Also, someone could have stopped going 2 years ago with 3 years history before that, should they get higher priority than someone who has been to every game this season?
You have to have a cut off point somewhere I do like the idea of going back over 5 seasons but maybe points earned 3 to 5 years ago could carry points but less value than the current 2 years.
The standing seats are in the corner in their traditional away end.
Isn't that away from where our 7k other tickets are though?
For PL games, i think everyone knows away fans are situated in the bottom right corner if you're watching on tv. But for cup games because of the bigger numbers i think away fans are put in the upper tier behind the goal at that end. I could be wrong though.

You have the normal corner away end and then a chunk of tickets in the upper tier behind the goal. I'd imagine/hope the club has sold the seats in the corner first before going block by block for the upper tier.
"Charlton?? Tbf I can't remember our last encounter with them? I think we may have stuffed them 4-0 at old Trafford when they got relegated but not sure what year that was?"
his friend pauses for a second
"You cannot accept the truth can you. You still cannot talk about it!?"
He proceeds to write "John Robinson", "Shaun barlett" on a scrap piece of paper, hands it to him, storms off and drives home

Not for the first time I have no idea what you are going on about. Why are you referring to our 3-3 draw with them in 2000, when you are also talking about the last time they played us?
How much do you think it should be? Perhaps a tenner would be fair. If you make it free everyone asks for a space 'just in case' and half remain unused. If you can afford a trip up north you can afford three quid.
