We played very well but quality trumps hard work in the end. Don’t think they really got out of second gear.

Can’t fault a single one of our lads. AMB, Fraser and JRS played very well inparticular.

Not the way I hoped this would finish. Lots of difference between 1-0 and 3-0.
In a funny way I would rather lose 3-0 than 1-0.  Outstanding performance and of it finished 1-0 you could, and people will, spend hours pointing fingers and blaming little things on us not winning.

Brilliant performance in probably our second biggest game in 15 years.

Play like that every game and we could still get in the play offs.

Leave the if buts and maybes for next week.

Proud of the players and can’t have said that too many time the last few years. Gave everything and didn’t deserve those two late goals.
    Ref missed so much.
    But on we go.
Chase those play offs now lads

Can't knock that, I knows it's an occasion that should bring out the best in any player but they gave their all tonight.
  • Thank god I don't have to listen to this commentary anymore. Thought we were outstanding for what we were up against.

The boys can hold their heads up after that second half performance. They did us proud.
  • Heads held high 1-0 or 3-0 were out so that’s irrelevant. The fact after that opening 10 minutes where we looked like we wouldn’t even get a touch we really fought fought and fought against a top prem side who needed to bring on their main man to finish us. Couldn’t be prouder, now show that commitment in Saturday lads and let’s kick on
  • Proud of the team tonight and that scoreline is harsh.

Thought United were well within themselves first half, but second half they knew they were in a game and Ten Hag felt the need to bring on his big guns.

Hope we can put that kind of performance into the league now and make a charge up the table.

  • Well played lads, well played everyone who made the trip too. Overall performance deserved a goal and 3 certainly flattered them massively.
  • We have them one hell of a game.  Well played all the boys they were magnificent

Not embarrassed. Nervy start but plenty after that.

Very proud, especially of young Leaburn - he played his socks off!
  • Never gone along with the theory Man Utd get favoured  by refs at Old Trafford until tonight - thought we played well and players gave it everything. Fantastic non stop singing from fans - well done to everyone who made the journey.

    BBC:

    FT: Man Utd 3-0 Charlton

All the Charlton players are over to congratulate the 9,000 travelling fans.

For anyone seeing the scoreline they would think Charlton were well beaten but they more than held their own against their Premier League rivals until tiredness and Manchester United's quality told.

The team did us proud, very pleased with the performance overall. No shame in losing like that, you can tell the class when Rashford came on but looks like we've got our fight back in the team.
Onwards to Saturday now, looking forward to it.

"Got the job done comfortably" and "relaxed professional performance by United, completely in control" the first 2 comments by these pundits and so I'm turning that shit off.
  • amazing how many plastic man u fans I haven't spoke to in years have all of a sudden crawled out of the woodwork who didn't even watch tonight - some of my favourite quotes "lost to man u reserves" "easy win never in danger" fuck off you arm chair plastic glory hunter pricks who aint even seen a game live. This is why I ain't talked to you for years - dickheads
Just wait until Saturday when City turn them over again and reply then.

Much better 2nd half. We were so much better with 3 at the back with Sessegnon and Clare pushing forward. I thought both CBT and Rak-Sakyi were very weak both defensively and going forward.

Also, probably a step too far for Miles today. He looked a lot better at the end with Stockley.
I think CBT and Rak-Sakyi can do a job at L1 level but today it showed their imitations.

Last one was offside….they didn’t deserve 3-0. We played well second half

3-0 was very harsh , says a lot that Ten Hag had to bring on Rashford , Eriksen and Casemiro in the first place. Great performance all round and a lot to take forward into the rest of the season

Those players can be proud of themselves tonight. No disgrace in losing to Man Utd and we only conceded late on because we were giving it a go. 3-0 flattered them and they had to revert to plan B (Eriksen and Rashford) to see it home. The fans … take a bow 👏👏👏👏👏 Bloody magnificent. Loud and proud.
