If he plays then a very good move all round.

That's the first move of the window.

That’s all well and good for Walsall, but what about us?
Heed my words, 4 more deals before Bolton.
    Jones (L) to Wycombe
    Leaburn to Brentford
    Coventry to Coventry
    and Jones (N) to Luton
    Happy with the last one

Up until the 29th December just gone he was 19 years old. Just turned 20 if you like.
I would suggest that for the most part defenders get a bit better with age and experience.
People who have reached a settled assessment and judgement might want to reflect that tons of people have written off Tyreece Campbell in the past, but are having a bit of a re think now.

Even Chris Solly had a year or two where he wasn’t a regular and didn’t convince everyone he had the ability.

In a better team and learning from his experience he won our POTY two years in a row, with the second being part of a top half Championship team.

Asiimwe has the potential to get to the Championship and possibly even higher. I see Zach Mitchell in a similar way. As you say, being defenders they’ll improve with age. They can’t be eased in off the bench in the way wingers and strikers can, they need someone to give them a run of games, whether that’s on loan our in our first team.

When I first saw Asiimwe play I thought this lad can go all the way. This is a good move for him where he probably still has to earn a place in the side and hopefully it works out for him and us.

Probably cup tied as I think he played in at least one of our previous matches.

EDIT: we knocked out Walsall so can't be a cup game! Ignore!

I for one can't wait for Ahadme to finally put pen to paper on that new 7 year deal.

Ahadme has scored more in league one than leaburn in the last two seasons.

True, but if big Carl ever did get a chance of coming off the bench for a cameo appearance in a league 1 game I suspect we’d be more confident in him making his presence felt.

Subbed on in the 74th minute in a 3-0 defeat away at Bradford. All goals were conceded before he came on.
  • While I can see why their manager would bring on an attack minded wingback when they are down three,  it is not really helping his development as he needs to work more in the defensive side of his game.  I would have preferred he dropped down a level lower and be regularly starting than getting piecemeal minutes in league 2

Walsall are romping the division so it was unlikely he'd come straight in and be a starter.
Even if he gets piecemeal game time up there he'll likely come back to us with a L2 winners medal which will definitely be something he will treasure.  but in reality he'll get more minutes as the season wears on and players get injured and suspended.
it's a good move for him

This move hasn’t worked out so far. Not even getting on the bench at the moment.

Saw a photo from a sponsors tour of Sparrows Lane a few weeks ago and was sure I saw Asiimwe training in it. Can’t find it now sadly but given Z Mitchell was supposedly training with us last season when not being picked by Colchester it wouldn’t surprise me

And was pretty good from a quick glance on twitter
  • Good.  He has been wasted there so far.  Hopefully he gets a little run now.
