Not a classic perhaps some of us were expecting but the best team won. Thought Stones had a really good game playing well forward! Was he a defender or midfielder? I guess he was both!
How many teams have won the league and FA cup down the ages?
When I were a lad, it was a rare and precious thing. Only Preston, Villa, Spurs and Arsenal had ever done it, if I recall? Now it’s far more common.
It’s going to happen more and more as the rich teams cement their domination at the top of the Premier League. That’s fine for the fans of those teams, but for the rest? There were people tweeting ‘Games gone’, because of the Grealish penalty.
If the game has gone, it’s for an entirely different reason.
Had to laugh when the commentator said about Pep, "forget the money, he just gets the best out of everyone".
Yeah, hes a great manager, one of the best ever probably. But being able to bring in absolutely ANY player you fancy must, just MUST, make a massive difference.

Yes, there's a massive difference between managing a side where you can basically choose who you bring in AND who you sell, as opposed to one where your best players will always be picked off.
When was the last player City lost that they desperately wanted to keep for example?

Often wonder what he would be able to achieve with our lot. Wouldn't it be interesting to see just how good he is with mediocre players?

Gundrogan. When he signs for Barcelona.
That's more about them not offering him a long enough contract, and he might stay anyway. It's not like Spurs losing Bale or Modric to Real, or Sheringham and Carrick to United for example. Or Arsenal losing Henry, Vieira, Fabregas etc

Or a club like Brighton, which accepts the fact that their best players will move on, so is constantly having to bring in new players

It's true that he has a lot of resources at his disposal but how many managers would have been able to turn John Stones into a centre back/right back somehow popping up in the number 10 spot and taking passes on the half turn? Or turn Nathan Ake, an OK centre back into a league winning left back. Same with Zinchenko, a fairly average centre mid. Being able to sign Haaland is a huge boon but remolding a team behind him until you've essentially redefined formations and turned some players who pre-Pep would struggle to get into another Champions League team's line-up into world-beaters is insane. He'll probably turn Kalvin Phillips into a sweeper keeper next.

Bear in mind that the commentator was Guy Mowbray, who is an absolute prick and cock of the first order.

No decent options available in January, as United weren't looking for a marquee signing
If we could sign one for next season Keane by a mile. If it was for the current Man City team Casemiro by a mile.
I just can’t support that other lot.
Were my mums team, loads of Irish & North Welsh & of course southerners support them.
meh!
But has Gundagon got his medal yet?
Defo expect him to be be there lifting the trophy if they win the CL 🤣🤣🤣🤣
