They've handled this so badly. Would have been so much easier just to quietly move him on abroad somewhere and avoid having to even comment etc. Pretend Ten Hag just doesn't think he needs him now they've signed Antony, Hjolund etc.
I've said all summer to anyone that'll listen that I think Postecoglou will do well at Spurs. I think he's a very good manager whose teams play good attacking football.
Spurs could score a lot of goals this season. They desperately need a striker though, as Richarlison is shite

My son couldn’t believe he was watching the same player who is central to Brazils starting line up.
Well done Liverpool for pushing the price up that Chelsea paid by entering an auction they were never going to win.
Great work again by Tony Bloom but if anyone thinks Brighton will get within 12 points of last seasons total you must be on drugs after losing both Caicedo and Macallister.
Caicedo at press conference: Q. You have signed for Chelsea who aren't in Europe let alone the Champions League so why have you joined the odious Chelsea fc?
And another centre back to keep Dier miles away from playing.
And a creative central midfielder.
Thought they signed Maddison? They should look at trying to get Lukaku off Chelsea, reckon he could rejuvenate his career there
Yeah sorry I mean behind that, in the two - maybe they won't and it's more of a double pivot but it does feel like they're leaving a hell of a lot to Maddison only if so.
So you could have signed Ward-Prowse and Mac Allister for basically half of what Chelsea have spunked on Caicedo? Mad.
Caicedo cost only a little bit less than Ward-Prowse, Mac Allister and Tonali all combined.
It's obscene really it is. I don't blame Caicedo himself but shit like this really is disgusting when you have clubs up and down the country scrabbling to make ends meet in the lower leagues.

The big oaf hasn't had the greatest weekend. Overlooked for the captaincy (rightly so) then left out of the squad altogether (woo hoo!). Finally a manager that realises he cannot play in a back four. Think the Barcelona pre-season friendly was the last nail in his coffin.
Have since seen a couple of links this morning of him possibly going to Saudi Arabia. Christ, have they seen him try to defend?
Every chance Hojbjerg will be going shortly too.
Have only watched the extended highlights of Brentford v Spurs but so nice to see Bissouma given the trust of the manager, unlike Conte who just refused to use him. Maddison looked the part but Richarlison and Sonny looked off the pace.
So nice to be able to watch a Spurs side play on the front foot again.
Interesting article here on Wolves, and how they're really struggling to meet the Financial Fair Play rules on losses, leading to Lopetegui quitting. The Chelsea accounts will be fascinating, and need a forensic review to validate all the sources of income to see they're genuine...
Chelsea currently have 13 players (soon to be 14) on their books whose contract expires in 2029 or later. 5 of those don't expire until 2031!
All of these players are young though, so it will either be a genius plan if the players do well and the likes of Real Madrid come knocking, or it could go very wrong and they end up facing huge contract pay offs if some of these signings don't work out.

Several of those will by the law of averages flop, especially with foreign signings where the failure rate is higher...
Romeo Lavia has apparently chosen to join Chelsea over Liverpool now as well…
I've read that the Lavia deal (50m) will take their spending to over 900m in 3 windows since Boehly took over.
Chelsea the club with a 40k capacity. Can anyone explain how one club can spend 900 million in 3 windows and this is ok with Fair play ? How much have they received for players going out ? Good to see yet another player who wants to play in the Champions League, NOT.
According to this article, City have a £40m buyback clause, not activated though until next summer, hence the rush to buy him now. You sense that if the clause had been £70m, Chelsea would have bid £80m.

Brighton really know how to drive a hard bargain.
Chelsea and this crazy spending … for a club with 40k crowds and not even in Europe…. Is going to end in some serious tears

A. Billuzo, Cashqui, Luca, Guita, Plata mucha.

The figure is also more than the entire spend of Spain's La Liga in the same period.
It's ridiculous.
I would love to see it all go belly up this season.
