Personally I couldn't give a toss how many times City win the league. If it means Liverpool or Arsenal don't win it then I'm happy with that. I think I only know one city supporter and he lives in Manchester so when City win the league I don't have to put up with all the gloating and bragging that I would have to endure if it was Liverpool or Arsenal.
I couldn't care less about Arsenal or Liverpool fans gloating, as they're not our rivals.
I genuinely don't get the preference for City over the other Big 6 type teams, just because they were rubbish 25 years ago.
I make Ange right. He’s outperformed expectations in his first season and he’s not the first one to basically call out the club mentality.
What would Spurs fans have wanted if they were in the title race themselves? Still throw the game?
Ange needs to come out and clarify exactly what he meant last night with his interview last night.
If he calls out the players then fair enough.
If he calls out Levy then fair enough. He left Ange without an out and out centre-forward for an entire season as he sold Kane 2 days before the start of the season and never replaced him.
But calling the fans out?
The fans aren't responsible for the 12 abject defeats we've had. The fans aren't responsible for the teams ability to defend set pieces. The fans aren't responsible for playing Ben Davies left back against Saka FFS. The fans aren't responsible for picking a different midfield 3 in the last 20 consecutive games or so. The fans aren't responsible for playing without a centre forward last night... (from what I could make out Pape Mate Sarr was playing as a false 9 with Sonny on the left!)
He is treading dangerous waters if he comes after the fans.

It feels like he was calling out something to do with the club's employees, given he talked about needing to change things around

To be fair the fan behind the dugout having a go at him during the game to 'throw' it and lose was pretty out of order. If you feel so strongly about it to the point you're going to directly have a go at the manager then just don't go the game.

I would have had no issue had Ange flattened the twat behind him, no issue at all. That wasn't on and the fella should get a ban. No issue with the anti Arsenal songs (that happens every game) but the couple of fans pictured doing the Poznan and wearing City Shirts, thats taking it too far and crosses the line.

He really does need to clarify exactly what he meant. You can't come out and say something as incendiary as that and then be very non-committal about it, especially to the media and press.
Enjoy the 'competitiveness' of 'big teams' winning every game like a procession.
30 points to stay up will be the new norm I guess.
They don't though.
Arsenal are ultimately not winning the league because of poor results v Fulham and West Ham, not scoring at all v Villa and ironically not beating Spurs at home who they're now giving stick to for losing last night.
Really speaks to the overall competitiveness of the league if it's seen as 'title deciding' that Arsenal's draw against 4th place denies them a title.

Man City haven't lost since the 6th December.
The 98/99 Man U treble team won the title with 78 points. This season they'd be 4th with that total, behind Liverpool! Back then the top teams didn't expect to win every game, Man U drew 13 games.
At the other end, we were relegated with 36 points and Forest who came bottom got 30. This season, Luton in 18th are on 26 points with a game to go.
The gap in the league between top and bottom is becoming uncomfortably large. We let in 56 goals that season, we were never embarrassed. This season the bottom 3 have let in 81, 76 and 101 goals with a game to go
I didn't realise we had so many neutral prem fans that don't like seeing the hierarchy of the prem change? Blimey.
If it wasn't City, it would be Liverpool, if it wasn't them, Chelsea, and so on. City spent money, so did everyone else before them to buy their titles. That's all football is, and all it ever will be. Who spends the most. Apart from the odd hiccup like Blackburn, Leicester etc.

The thing for me in the PL race was Arteta's attitude to going to the Ethiad and giving City far too much respect. The form Arsenal were in at the time, had they played like they had the rest of the season, there was every chance they would have won the game.
If Arsenal can go out and buy a proven centre-forward (or 2 would be even better!), then they'd have a chance of winning everything. Arteta has moulded one hell of a team.
“Unfortunately in the last 48h I saw that the foundations are really fragile”.
“It's inside the club, outside the club"
Blimey, not sure what to make of that....
I don't think he will last long with his current attitude. It feels like he's definitely having a go at the fans, and it shows he just doesn't really get it imo. It's a fierce rivalry, and I genuinely understand the mindset of the Spurs fans who wanted to lose.
If Spurs won yesterday, they'd be all over yous those Arsenal fans, saying how Spursy it is to win the title for them etc. I'm with oohah here, when we beat Southend and aided Millwall in reaching the play offs, I was genuinely pissed off. They're still there now, and still gloating. Fuck that.
He should have just stuck to the game and said they tried to win, and that he wasn't thinking about Arsenal. Sometimes you have to be political and bite your tongue in this game, and he's failed miserably there. He's probably furthered the divide with his comments among Spurs fans now I imagine, and made it an even bigger topic.

And Arsenal have only lost once since December, winning 15 of 17 league games. How does that run of form sit with your competitiveness issue?
I guess you're perfectly ok with that though because it's not City.

Thanks for sharing that. I hadn't actually seen the footage.
Exactly. No win situation for the fans whatsoever. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Someone posted up a video elsewhere of an Arsenal fan on AFTV saying they'd deliberately lose their Europa Cup Final if it means Spurs lost the CL final. So you know full well the Gooners would be doing the same as some of ours last night if the boot was on the other foot.
It's really bizarre on here recently, like the Premier League has been essentially bought by the teams that spend the most since 1992, there's no change there. The team that's spending the most right now is City, so they win. Chelsea have spent an astronomical amount of money, but have won feck all. United are looking to spend loads this summer to get back to the top, Liverpool will no doubt throw bundles of cash around to back the new manager too.

Liverpool fans are just about the worse in the country. Scouse not English Boo the national anthem Nothings ever their fault.
I'd take City winning the league over that lot every time.

He will get over it eventually. He’s just upset that Arsenal (probably) haven’t been good enough to win it once again. 👍
I don’t know how you can come on this thread and cry about anti competitiveness when your team still has a chance of winning the league if they beat Everton at the weekend.
Will it still be net spend’s fault if Arteta’s boys drop points against Everton?
If things were so bad, City would’ve had it wrapped up weeks ago.

That's why I don't get the 'bottlers' thing thrown at Arsenal at the moment.
They've had 2 very good seasons - if Saliba hadn't got injured last season they'd have won it, and they've got more points this season. City have (probably) just been marginally better.
Posted this on another thread but relevant to here
imagine in 20 years time if spurs had drawn/won and handed arsenal the title and not got champions league or even a miracle they got champions league , they’re never gonna win it next year anyway
but arsenal fans will have reminded them till eternity about the game they handed the title to them
so the bigger picture spurs result last night was for the greater good and mental health of spurs fans in the future

It is this, and it's also the fact that when they do win, for the most part, there's not much in it.
11/12 - Aguero
13/14 - Finished 2 points ahead of Liverpool, 3 on Chelsea
17/18 - Centurions
18/19 - 1 point ahead of Liverpool
20/21 - 12 clear of United, anomaly season
21/22 - 1 points ahead of Liverpool, again
22/23 - 5 ahead of Arsenal
So out of 7 of their title wins, 4 of them came right down to the wire, if they win an 8th, it will be the same again. I don't understand how it's seen as boring or a farmers league. Teams have ample opportunities to overtake them at points in the season but blow it, City could even still blow it themselves on the final day, which I think they may be due a choke tbh.
Worth nothing as well that in those gaps where City didn't win the title, they were nowhere near it. 11 behind United, 8 behind Chelsea, 15 behind Leicester, 15 behind Chelsea, 18 behind Liverpool.
17 points currently seperate Madrid and Barca, the season before it was 10, before that 13, both changing hands respectively.
Inter currently 18 clear of Serie A, season before Napoli 16 clear
Leverkusen currently 15 clear, before that last season goal difference, before that 8 points.
Won't even bother with Ligue 1.
The same team are winning quite consistently, but it hasn't been easy, and I genuinely haven't found it boring. Been nice to watch the entitled clubs have their feathers ruffled a little over the years, as it won't last forever.

No it's actually exactly my point.
'The greatest league in the world' is now exactly the same as the Spanish or German leagues. 2-3 teams that win every game in a procession while there are only 5 games worth watching as the top teams face each other.
If you're fine with that because Man City win and not a 'hated' team then whatever. But if it were Liverpool or Arsenal winning the league like this there would be uproar about the competitiveness.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm absolutely sick of the state of football as a whole, and the closed shop of ultimate success. Man City are simply emblematic of the impossibility of bridging the gulf now
And yes, I know other countries have been a closed shop for longer. That hasn't been ideal either of course. If I was Scottish I probably wouldn't bother with football at this point
When Liverpool were dominant in the 70s and 80s, most neutrals were fed up of it and wanted someone else to win the title.
When United under Fergie were dominant, most neutrals were fed up with them winning. ABU, anyone but United etc
And that's how I feel about City now . It's highly likely they'll win the double again this season, yet it'll almost feel like an anticlimax due to the failure in Europe.
People moaned about the Big four liverpool man utd arsenal chelsea now Man City amongst it and spurs (only Joking )
There isn't a big 4.
There's a big 1. And then a revolving top 4 underneath them that take turns peaking to challenge (and then come 2nd.)
Competitive league indeed.
Let’s revisit this statement 3-5 seasons after Pep leaves Man City.
Your “big 1” statement could, again, apply to Man U twenty five years ago, or Liverpool forty years ago…
Except Man City have won more often than those two cases. Plus the other two usually had a lower points total showing a more competitive league on the whole.
