  • He made one excellent long cross field pass forward thar lead to the 2nd goal but otherwise most very poor. Also he does not seem to have any situational awareness.
  • I don't quite 'get' this comment from Deano on Deji...

“Deji [Elerewe] has been carrying something for quite a while now, with his knees. We just have to be careful, you forget how young he is given the size of him. We’ll see how he is in the next couple of days in relation to Saturday.”

Ok,  now the burning question is do I reboot my laptop and try to log in for the second half, and risk jinxing us, or go and sort out my washing instead?
As long as you're in the kitchen you can do whatever you like ( it's a joke SORRY  :#)
    RIP Bob
Luckily, I'm not a vengeful woman, so he's safe for now. 🙄 Anyway, the decision has been made for me, cos my laptop STILL hasn't finished rebooting.
    For now ?  :o:#:*
Well I've got to leave room for the possibility of reasonable chastisement for any future transgressions. Just don't push your luck ;)
  • I have never seen a goal at a friendly celebrated like that one!! 🤣🤣
The goal went in, and when we saw the reaction of the away end, me and my lot all looked at each other and burst out laughing. Never seen anything like it at a pre season friendly. 🤣
now remind me… who’s cup final is this fixture?? 😁😁
Our celebrations were small beer compared to the way your lot went apeshit when they scored.
People are going to celebrate a bit more than they would in a usual friendly, because it is also a local derby. But to use a modern football phrase, there looked like there was absolute
‘limbs’ in the away end when you scored your goals. Especially the first one.

For the record, I don’t subscribe to the myth that this fixture doesn’t mean anything to either set of supporters. Of course it does, and with the grounds only a few miles apart, so it should.
To be honest your lot did go quite mental for the equaliser? I have never seen celebrations like it at a friendly before either? The best one was the bloke in the glasses who stood on his seat before running on the pitch and then being escorted out by police. Maybe it was just the wrist waving u18 junior lions next to the away end who didn't watch the game? Good game though. Nisbet impressed me. Cooper goes long as always. Be very interesting to see if you go top 6 this season?

Negatives from the game. We gave the hall away far to often. Both their goals came from us giving the ball away in their box. Then 4 passes later they score.
Tyrell Thomas not as good as many think. He is to accident prone and not aware of the situation around him poor passing. Mitchell struggled against the pace of the guy on their left and let him cut inside all the time. Kanu not ready for intense first team football. Asimwe was struggling to get into the game and knocked off the ball to easily. Anderson other than the goL I believe he scored was lost with what to do and so made panick passes that usury ended up with the Mikkwall players.
It was lucky they were not up for itvin the f
irst half. Second half showed the depth of their squad and our lack of depth.

I thought Thomas did pretty well for the first hour, but in the last half hour was clearly dead on his feet. Could barely walk for the last 20 mins. Glad he’s not going in as our first choice anything though.

  • Considering where both teams finished last season, I’m more then happy with that

So it's a bit like a yellow card ? Reasonable chastisement sounds interesting but I think I'll take the warning & count to ten before clicking on "Post Comment" o:)

Notice how he mentions the lack of forward outlet. Message to the board about getting a lump in upfront.
  • Back on my Xmas card list, MF

  • That was fun. Definitely a good idea to play this sort of friendly, where the players care about the result but aren't trying to injure each other. Decent performance, a couple of good goals and the defence looked solid for most of the game. Lots to be positive about. Suspect I'll regret getting home the wrong side of midnight when I'm at work later, but hey ho.
  • Frustrating we didn't win but just have to take the positives. Players are getting minutes of real competitive football, our youth are showing their worth and that they may be ready to chip in.

Left early cause I drove in and parked, heard a murmur of being locked in so thought bollocks to that and made my way at about the 80th minute mark.

I have to laugh because my little cousin gave it the old 'we are all over these, I can't see them scoring'. I just said this is the way boy, there's no chance we keep a clean sheet. Walking down Senegal Road and hear them erupt, just looked at him as if to say 'get used to it'.

So much for just a friendly ay? A lot of cheering and booing for just a friendly. Throwing missiles as per as well..utter tools

Laughable they think we view them as our cup final. I'll fully admit they're an important game to us, I can't stand the pricks and think they're pond life scum, but them trying to play down the rivalry is pretty funny.

  • Think it's pretty clear which of the 2 sides should come out of that the happier. And it isn't the side from the higher division, playing at home, with their first choice lineup, getting outplayed for 45 minutes by a bunch of kids.

A lot of promising signs for us, Anderson looks class, we look very good going forward and whilst we need to improve defensively it's not really much of a concern given we have Jones, Hector and Edun to come in, and Egbo only played 5 minutes.

I'm excited about our chances this season for the first time in a long time.
  • Some things to work on for sure but seems like there's a lot to be positive about for the upcoming season, especially with some more bodies to come through the door and a first choice XI to be nailed down.

If he wanted “reasonable chastisement”, I’m sure he could book that by the hour somewhere.

  • In the home end with friends and family. Those excepted, there were some utter pond scum around.
  • We actually looked... Quite good? Very encouraging especially with so many academy players on the pitch - 4 or 5 was it?
  • know so many know so many that sat in the main stand rather than away end. Even if sitting with friends & family, really don’t know how they can do it.
Sounds like you might be in the minority here  ;)
  • Just out of interest, how many fans there?

Wow, that’s not bad for a preseason friendly.
