Makes the shenanigans of Monday even more bizarre. Should never have got tonight. Another precious three points down the drain. Bye you useless fuckwit.
Next appointment is boom or bust, it can’t continue like this.
Adkins: 7 months.
Jackson: 6 months.
Garner: 6 months.
Holden: 8 months.
Appleton: 4 months.
We weren't great under JJ, but I refuse to accept we'd be anywhere near as bad as we are now had we just kept him for the 18 months we gave Garner, Holden and Appleton.
But there were people on here who wanted him gone, even though he got stitched by Sandgaard
Quite possibly the worst manager we’ve ever had, certainly the worst in my time. Karel Frayere wasn’t a manager and quite literally a lamb to the slaughter, and Les Reed took over and failed at the highest level. Appleton has been coaching/managing since 2008 and should’ve delivered so much more.
Disastrous appointment that many said at the time.
I’m at a loss to understand where next. There’s no way he could’ve continued, but the se7 regime has been a disaster so far, you can’t argue that it hasn’t. For all the intent and recent money spent, we’ve got yet another bunch of clowns running us, and Methven Scott et al, are the latest wallies to have a go at running the club.
I haven’t a clue who the next manager could be. We’ve tried the unknown lower league no-marks in Garner and Holden, and the League One jobber in Appleton.
If it weren’t for the fact that we’re perilously close to the drop zone, I’d say take our time.
Disaster of a season that is firmly fitting as it’s been a disastrous few years.
Just asked ChatGPT who our next manager should be:

Who should be the next Charlton Athletic manager?
ChatGPT
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have information on the current manager of Charlton Athletic or any recent changes. Additionally, I do not have real-time data or updates on specific individuals who could be the next manager.
To find the latest information on the Charlton Athletic manager position, I recommend checking recent sports news, the official Charlton Athletic website, or reliable sports news outlets. They often provide the most up-to-date information on managerial changes and potential candidates."
Including 1 caretaker, we've had 6 managers since Jan22.

In the ten years since Chris Powell left, we’ve had 13 managers (15 if you count Damien Matthew and Kevin Nugent, but they were both interim managers) Karl Robinson and Lee Bowyer account for 4 and a half of those years. So in the remaining 5 and a half years - 11 managers.
No idea of his personal financial situation. But, revelling in anybody losing their job seems wrong. But, it was obvious early days it wasn’t going in the direction we wanted. Iv no idea who who bring in, but let’s just hope our club stalwarts Pearce/Euell can with pure enthusiasm turn this round over the next couple of games. In old hero’s we trust……

If it makes you feel any better he’ll be getting a substantial portion, if not all, of his remaining contract paid up.

...like feck he did. Wrong man at the wrong club at the wrong time and, sadly, proved most of us right.

Pretty incredible really.
Curbs said, if they can pay £200k for a player, then pay what it costs to get a good manager, even one in a job.
The next move from our board will be as telling as the transfer market.
