Chucks gives every thing for the team.
Yesterday was a good performance from him.
He is the best technical player in the squad, just imagine how good he would have been, if his body could cope with the physical demands of a full 90mins football match week in week out.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if he could get a goal before the end of the season?

I'd suggest the size of the pitch and would be energy sapping, would mean he'd be blowing out of his bottom after 5 minutes.

Was saying yesterday if he gets one in the next couple of games can see him getting 2 or 3 more before the end of the season/playoffs. But if he doesn't get one soon I think he won't get one at all.

At the moment he's so desperate and putting so much pressure on himself that he's snatching at them or it's just not falling for him. He needs to break that duck and it'll start falling for him again.

only 3 meters longer, 2 meters wider, hardly gonna make a huge difference shurely, especially seeing as he only covers about a tenth of the pitch now.

I must've been watching a different Chuks to the rest of you.
Thought he was pretty poor. Kept trying to bring the ball down in dangerous areas and getting it nicked off him. He seems to think he has an abundance of time on the ball.
  • I like Chuks but his level of fitness is alarming.

The total pitch size of Wembley is 115 yards by 74 yards, the Valley is 112 by 73. Not a great difference.

    It will be for him.

Yeah I agree. His motivation to come back from all those injuries and get into such good shape must be amazing.

Not sure I agree with number three. I'd gamble on a reduced deal and hope that a decent pre-season gives him confidence in his body. He will be looking at a substantial pay cut whatever he does. Last two games as late sub, two assists and a super save from a decent keeper.
This is a mental illness at this point.
If you are going to troll me, please explain your post.
Gladly. I think anyone still who still thinks that Chuks could turn his fitness issues around with a preseason is insane.

How many years have people been saying it? Clinging on to some misplaced hope that this might finally be the year he can last more than 20 mins and not need to miss a third of the season, despite being shown he can't do it time and time again. It's madness.

I think you belittle mental illnesses.  Which are not a difference in opinion on a player.
    Have a day off 🙄

Well he wouldn't be playing for us that's for sure.

A fit and healthy Chuks able to start every game would be at least a top level Championship player.

Not sure if you’re old enough to remember the likes of Keith Jones, Mark Kinsella , John Robinson- they were people that gave everything for the team.  And they played every week.

No he's not. Berry is, despite the whines of the 'He doesn't try hard enough' mob.

I'm not sure about that, as he hasn't really done much at Championship level, even when fitter. We first signed him in the Championship back in 2019, and he didn't have a massive impact that season.

I think his contract runs out in the summer, can’t see him being offered another?

The best deal chucks will get is a pay as you play deal somewhere.
    Hopefully not for us.

I suppose it’s looking more from the angle if he was could run and press all day like other players he would have been a much better player with his strength and what he can offer with the ball at his best.

If he could run and press and stay fit.  I watched a few clips of Andy Hunt a few days ago - there was a proper link player .

He can't run and he can't jump. He can shield and he can get a decent shot away but that's about it. It's not like he's coming back from a recent injury and will recover his speed.

He wins a lot in the air, he definitely can jump.

As I hadn’t read any of this thread, it was more to do with enquiring if anyone had heard anything on his more than likely departure in the summer.

Yes I do remember them, and my comment is about how good Chucks is during those few occasions he can play for us. If he could play regularly , he may have been as good as Mark Kinsella. But his muscular skeletal issues will not allow it.
It must be a real frustration for him, to say the least.

I'd really like to see him enjoying his football a bit more.
He treats every miss like it's the end of the world and if he's not praying, he's slouching and looking thoroughly dejected.

He's a lucky man, doing a job most of us could only dream of doing, and he's still young and fit.

Scoring and winning is nice, but there are more important things in life.

    Cheer up Chuks !

That could be his new song

    Cheer up,sleepy Chuks
    Oh what can it mean
    To a daydream believer
    and a homecoming Queen?

(Er… couldn’t think of anything to replace, Queen, other than, has been)

If I was an opposing centre back I'd want the happy go lucky Chuks to come on rather than the angry point to prove version.

TBF he brought it out of the sky from the corner to set up MG.
