Ollie Robinson can't have done much more to impress the England captain he is playing with in the game against Lancs. He was left stranded on 171* (206) with Durham losing by 60 runs which is bad news, of course, for us too albeit that it drags Durham near us too.

It's hard to tell who are the relegation favourites at the moment, as looking at the table there are a number of teams quite close together. Neither Warks nor Worcs have won a game yet for example.

Duck in the first innings though

So Robinson will be first reserve for Bairstow when he takes the gloves...
Given that we have another game (against Essex) starting on Friday, the chances are that we will be without Gilchrist, Garrett, Quinn and of course Cohen. Two from Agar, Swanepoel and Stobbo will presumably join Stewart, Evison and the returning Parkinson with Leaning hopefully coming back for O'Riordan.

Once again looking so light for the next game, to me evison has shown he can’t really be trusted to be 4 option nor do I think he is good enough to be in the future.

That may be true but, with an average of 50.33, he is worth his place in the side as a batsman. We would have to drop one of our top 6 to accommodate another seamer and that would leave us with a rather long tail. We are just not very good.

I'm amazed O'Riordan is still with us, and was chosen ahead of Muyeye, which will hardly help his confidence. He's 26 now, not a promising youngster.

We need runs, but we also need to bat out time. Very unlikely, but if we could bat to tea with a lead of say 200, that would be a challenging chase.
