Which prompts the question why are Kent CCC not supporting those school programmes across Tonbridge, Sevenoaks etc and a range of state Cricket playing schools from Dartford to Folkestone to Dover.
Are we seriously suggesting the financial, commercial industry players in the County really have no interest in putting their brands to such markets.
I have no wish to denigrate any player who wears the Kent shirt but the squad looks horribly, horribly deficient.0 -
No Leaning again.
Two years running when someone has played a massive innings, then been absent for subsequent games. When Zak is off with England, our batting resources will look even thinner.0 -

I've umpired Harrow, KCS Wimbledon, Hampton, Emmanuel, and Tiffin schools this season, plus LSCA, and none of the kids were as good as those at Tonbridge last year (bar one overseas student at Harrow named Matthew Miller, a Jamaican fast bowler very much in the Joffra Archer mould).
So we do not have not have a single player beyond Jaydn that came through our system on our books below the age of 25 albeit that Cox would have qualified had he stayed (although he too was privately educated). Two seasons ago, Sussex had 17 players that came through their age group system and every single one of them went to a private school. Seb is the only one of two boys from his original age group of 21 boys from U11-U15 at Kent (and the other one was only in the U11 squad) that is currently playing in the Kent PL and neither were privately educated. I could write a book on the reasons why Kent's age group system has struggled, some of which I have already expressed but other aspects aren't for a public forum such as Charlton Life!1 -
100-0. It's not goin very well.0

Agar has now hurt himself diving and has left the field. It never ends for us!2

Agar hasn't come out after lunch. He fell on his shoulder - hopefully he hasn't dislocated it and is just resting for a while.0

I think it is strongly likely to certain that O'Riordan is the worst cricketer playing this round of games in either division1

To be fair to us, it's not as if we're only team not to take a wicket:
Somerset 104-7
Surrey 104-6
Derbyshire 158-3
Sussex 133-3
Glamorgan 124-2
Yorks 106-1
Essex 121-01 -
Elgar walks straight passed a hand grenade from Parkinson and is stumped by Finch
146-12 -
Two stumpings by Finch already this season, though this one was much easier! Weird shot by Elgar, when they were so on top.

The thing is our bowlers are tight and overall Essex are going at less than 3 an over. We're just not very penetrative. As I type this Cox gets off the mark with a 6!!!0

185-2 off 64 overs at tea1

194-3, Westley caught in the slips (Crawley) off Arafat. We have a bowling point!1
-
Westley caught at slip by Crawley off Ararafat
194-30 -
Another wicket to Evison. Critchley LBW
Essex 225-4 off 80.11 -
Evison has had to step up in the absence of Agar and his return of 16-4-35-2 is proof enough that he has let nobody down.4
-
-
Given the injury situation we bowled ok but with just 14 overs available will be lucky to gain anymore bowling points.0
-
I think this track has got draw written all over it.0
