Benjamin has a First Class average of 24.15 from 24 innings with his only hundred coming on his Championship debut. Averaged 11.4 in the Blast last season and only played one game, scoring 2, in the 50 over comp. Sounds like our sort of player! Clearly a "punt" on someone whose career has stalled somewhat.
I’d prefer Kenny - and he must be pushing 60

The best parts of this season for Kent have been rainy days. Thanks for ruining summer guys!

  • Never have I encountered so many people that must have been so desperately evil in another life. I include myself in that number. How else does one explain having the misfortune to support Charlton Athletic FC and Kent CCC?

Didn’t they lose to Kent? If that is the case they deserve to go down.

Late news: the ECB have decided to deduct Worcestershire 50 points for being found guilty of being a non Test/Hundred hosting county. Sussex have also been deducted an identical number of points for the same crime, meaning that Yorkshire and Middlesex will now be promoted.
  • 189-4. Jas the nightwatchman out for a single. Both Leaning and Joe Denly have reached their 50s.
  • Joe caught and bowled by Parkinson's twin brother for 63 (106). Leaning is on 84* (164) with the score on 220-5 (61.1) and 140 behind

Leaning out without adding to his score and followed by O'Riordan for 3 (32)

    257-7
  • What is the point of O’Riordan? We could have played another youngster instead

Ekansh is the only other contracted youngster we could have played and I think that O'Riordan in there as the extra spinner. The ECB prevents any non-contracted players from playing i.e. those in the Academy

Well at least the season is over. We might even win some games in Div. 2
  • And so to "bed"...well, until the March winds & April showers arrive once more.

Thanks for your company on this thread, guys. It helps to know I'm far from alone in my misery .

Let's do it all again next season. :(
  • At least we get a local match at Lord's next season.

Thanks once again for all your insightful comments on here during the season. They've somehow made it all a bit more bearable.
I'm looking forward to next season. Can't help it.................
