Losing the last 3 wickets for 1 run is very disappointing as i was hoping we could get the lead up towards 250-275. Having said that we've made a much better fight of it than anyone expected.
Gutted that Pope couldn't get the double hundred he deserved.
England being competitive in India after being so far behind on 1st innings is great to see. India are rarely vulnerable at home and yet England had them rattled in the 2nd innings. With partnerships from the start and Pope who has scored a brilliant 196.
We need to take every chance but one slip catch goes down straight away.
It might seem strange on this wicket to be disappointed with Wood but his lack of penetration does mean that we do only have one mode of attack. Bumrah has figures of 24.4-5-69-6 in the match which is in stark contrast to Wood's 18-1-55-0

400-7 in the 96th over.
Pope 189 (262)
Hartley 23 (35)

Done by one that kept low, snuck under the bat.
Wood 0 (7) c Bharat b Wood
Soft edge behind of Jadeja. Pope is still four more runs away… Jack Leach comes out to bat with a heavily strapped knee.
Hoping Leach can hang around long enough for Pope to get 200.
All out. Pope bowled going for a ramp shot.
I'm off to bed.
420 all out.
India need 231 to win.
I was hoping for 250 when Hartley and Pope were going strong so would definitely say the home side are favourites but not by that kind of margin.
Steve Smith at the crease on 72, partnered by Nathan Lyon with only Josh Hazlewood left after that.

As England scored 420 against India's attack I'm not surprised at those percentages.
Jaiswal 15 (35) c Pope b Hartley
Ran down the pitch at Hartley and poked it leg side, pouched by Pope at short leg.
Gill 0 (2) c Pope b Hartley
Hartley has two in three balls! Gill pushes to silly point and Pope takes it.
Steve Smith left stranded on 91 not out.
Leach comes into the attack, replacing Root.
If I were Pope I would have told Stokes where to go when asked to field at short leg/silly point!
But Pope does the job so well.
It's a specialist position and he reminds me a bit of Bell.
