Saving Luton from near certain relegation in the same league and taking them to the playoffs within a couple of years?Ducktapeshoerepairs said:Genuine question, what has Jones recently achieved to warrant interest from a Championship club ?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Jones_(Welsh_footballer)On 28 May 2020, Jones was reappointed as Luton Town manager, almost 18 months after originally leaving the club to manage Stoke. He replaced the outgoing Graeme Jones, who left by mutual consent the month before.[57] In his first press conference, Jones spoke of his "regret" and "remorse" over the way he initially left the club and that he understood the mixed fan reaction to his exit and return, with hopes that he could earn fans' trust back.[58] Jones went on to successfully guide Luton to Championship safety on the final day of the season with a 19th place finish, despite the club lying in 23rd when Jones re-joined.[59] In the following season, Jones achieved a 12th place finish after scoring 62 points – Luton's highest points total in the second tier since the 1981–82 season.[60]
In January 2022, Jones signed a new contract with Luton until 2027.[61] Results continued to improve under Jones, with him leading the club to finish 6th and qualify for the playoffs at the end of the season.[62] Though the club ultimately lost 2–1 on aggregate to Huddersfield Town in the semi-final, Jones was widely praised for his management and was named the 2021–22 EFL Championship Manager of the Season at the league's annual awards ceremony.

On holiday in Kos with my Cardiff bestie.
Owner lost interest and club being run by a management team.
Not sure the funds are there to pay off a contract for Jones.
I don't feel entirely confident he won't go if asked.4 -

Yeh, he said something about how it's a boyhood dream of his to manage Cardiff and it's a dream come true and I can't wait to get started. Something like that anyway, only skimmed through.Gribbo said:

He also said he'd do it for free and help with the pitch in the summer.Addick_8 said:

Cardiff need a manager to come in to a struggling, underperforming team and get results to keep them up by whatever means necessary. So basically what he did for us last season thenDucktapeshoerepairs said:Genuine question, what has Jones recently achieved to warrant interest from a Championship club ?0 -

Nothing the press have pulled a comment he made back in 2021 about the Cardiff job but lot has changed since then … people again making 5 plus 5 = 7 plus people just look for any nugget to rock the boat ..Ducktapeshoerepairs said:Genuine question, what has Jones recently achieved to warrant interest from a Championship club ?0 -
Sounds reasonably straightforward that he's not going to Cardiff.Gravesend_Addick said:1 -
He won't be offered that job too often and I reckon if offered it now he'd find it very hard to resist. Will be able to go back home and manage in the Championship too.0

Hmmm, I don't think he'll be offered it, but read it as not a definite no if offeredCovered End said:

It didn’t sound like a come and get me, he’s obviously a Cardiff lad, but doesn’t mean they’ll even approach, best guess it’ll be someone who’s lost their job recently

Sounded to like he said he would love to one day but not at the momentCallumcafc said:

For what it’s worth though I don’t think he’ll be off anytime soon, thankfully.1 -
The new Charlton Manager will be the same as the old one...he ain't going anywhere...🤷♂️0

It won’t be long before a few of our base will be crying out for him to go to Cardiff and bring back Jackie, SCP or Bows ! Oh and ofcourse Curbs 16/1 😂eastterrace6168 said:The new Charlton Manager will be the same as the old one...he ain't going anywhere...🤷♂️2 -
Reading that I reckon he would leave if offered the Cardiff job. He openly says he wants to manage there one day. How many offers will he realistically get.
That said, I don't think they will go for him given requirement for compensation and that he has failed at a couple of places.2
