Up to 85 signings now in the league. Last week was the busiest so far.
With players officially out of contact now, and everyone back in training, this week could surpass last week. Should hit 100 on Wednesday or Thursday I would think.
Cambridge have signed Shayne Lavery on a free from Blackpool.
Shows how much can change in a year for better or worse, a lot of Blackpool fans had high hopes for him season gone, but apparently he struggled when he got back into the team.
Birmingham sign Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell on a 4 year deal from Burnley
He was on the shortlist of suggestions I sent to the club at the beginning of the window. He had a good spell on loan in Denmark last season and I had hoped we might take a look. Had all the attributes we want but I'd guess Birmingham are throwing money around like confetti to get out of the league and we can't, and shouldn't, try to compete.

They are still a car crash waiting to happen
From what I've seen of players linked to them it doesn't too have much joined up thinking? BPF and Alfie I get as signings at this level if you want to bounce straight back , but then I'm seeing them linked to £2m Dutch centre halves and £4m Scandinavian strikers. Coupled with a first time head coach in Davies this could all go very wrong.
A departure, as Charlie Wyke who was released by Wigan has rejoined Carlisle. A slightly curious few months, as he went on loan to Championship Rotherham in January, and now has gone to L2. He had that worrying collapse a couple of years ago, but scored 25 goals for Sunderland in 20/21.

Brum gone for that horrendous strategy of signing players who are either performing at this level or the one above, with a young innovative manager who has learnt from many coaches at the top of the game. No way that will work out for them

Does Birmingham have new owners since last season? Otherwise, can't work out why they are throwing money at transfers now and didn't do it last season to stay in championship

Nope same ownership that took over last season and precided over the whole sack Eustace , appoint Rooney debacle.

Very different levels though. Throwing money around in league one where half the league doesn't even sign players for a fee is relatively easy. If they spend 5m in total it could be more than the rest of the league combined.
Throwing money around in the Championship where last year you had the likes of Leicester spending 40m on players is a different story.

Surprised no one from L1 a punt, 19 in 44 in the National League last year and still only 22.
