Textbook Evans window , bunch of players he knows that he will have well drilled and hard to beat - masters of the dark arts too I would expect. No real superstars but they'll be there or thereabouts as usual.
And signed early so he has all summer to drill them

Absolutely, and a few of them are well known to him anyway. I'd put more faith in them being up there as real contenders than whatever is going on with Birmingham and their supposed budget.

6 signings yesterday, 4 for a fee and 2 free transfers.
3 of the 6 signings were also called Alex, that takes the total number of Alex's up to 4 and first place. Ahead of Charlie, Chris, Jack, Joe, Lewis and Luke on 2.
Rotherham are the first team to hit double figures and Bristol Rovers made their first signing leaving us with just Leyton Orient, Northampton and Reading with no one through the door yet.
Rotherhams offseason signing strategy is interesting. Two high level players in JCH and Powell and then a bunch of experienced but aging steady role players - all on frees. They will definitely be decent but they don’t feel like an automatic promotion squad as it currently stands
An experienced and steady side with JCH scoring 25-30 goals will get them there or thereabouts. Whilst league one will certainly be tougher this year, the league overall is very average. A well drilled Evans side that are hard to beat will be up there for sure.

Yeah they aren't going to be a team that blows many away or run away with auto promotion, but they will very likely be a big part of the top 6 equation and won't lose big very often either.

Given how well Stevenage did last year you'd expect Rotherham to be even better, much better players at Rotherham. Surprised they haven't taken Piergianni yet though.
I think Rotherhams signing of Jules is excellent. He is a very good CB at this level, good age, strong and certainly an Evans type of player. Would have liked to have signed him, he would have made an excellent partner to Mitchell. Rotherham won't let in many, and should have a few goals in them, definitely top 6 material.
Signing number 10. Goalkeeper Cameron Dawson has joined on a free from Sheffield Wednesday.
What's happening to all the players that were there last season? We're struggling to clear 4 or 5 players he's got to get rid of a whole team who were relegated.
People leave Rotherham as soon as they get a chance.
I like what Burton have done so far. They've signed some players that a lot of other teams were linked with. Will be interesting to see how they get on. They had quite a few leave/released/return to parent clubs at the end of the season, and with a new manager coming in it looks from their signings as if they could be switching to a different style.
Orsi will have to show he's not just a one season wonder, and at a higher level. Watt I think will be a decent signing for them. Whitfield should get a few goals, and Webster is a good prospect.
Larson and Kalinauskas look the weakest, haven't done much, even at a lower level in their careers to this point. Bajrami had 2 good seasons in non-league but then missed last season with a bad injury so interesting to see how much he plays. Sraha is another relatively untested one, played a few games for Shrewsbury so does at least have some experience in League One. Bannon came from the Scottish Championship like Edwards.
Most of their signings have been younger players (24 or under) so potentially looking at players that could have resale value. However not a lot of experience at this level. Probably looking at a mixed bag, it's unlikely they will all be good, but if more step-up than not they could be pushing for top half.

Personally I don't know anything about the players Burton have signed but if we had signed any of them would people be excited or disappointed?

Can't talk for everyone but Watt and Webster are probably the only 2 that I would assume people would have been happy with. The rest would probably have been met with apathy at best.
No idea what Burton & Rotherham are playing at. Don't they know there is still 2 months before the transfer window closes. At this rate they're have 40+ players in their squads. They need to learn to pace themselves. No need to rush.
I thought Burton would be dark horses last season, was well off the money. Seems like they have realised how close they were to sinking now last season, and are trying to correct it earlier.
I couldn't call who gets relegated at this stage, think it's going to be really competitive down there this year, and I hope we aren't part of it again at any stage.

I realise you're having a pop at Charlton but do you know if they've signed good players or just a lot of players. I look forward to your in depth analysis.

The manager at each club "promised" their fans that their squad would be "complete" before pre-season training commenced

Wycombe bring in goalkeeper Nathan Bishop on loan from Sunderland.
Burton could be one to look out for with their new owners, made some good signings from League 2 - will be interesting if they can make the step up.
