Answering a question about it being a difficult league... "The clubs that are pulling together and know where they want to go are the ones that tend to be successful" Portsmouth last season given as an example
Bullshit Bingo - house !!!
Ipswich spent money - wisely - but plenty of it - in Premier League, from Div 3 to Prem in 2 seasons
Ipswich spent their first 12 months spending money with no plan and didn't make the playoffs...
And remind me what we did
Spent the first 12 months without a solid plan and didn't make the playoffs...
And got beat by them at their place 4 nil and then 6 nil in successive seasons - I was at both
But most importantly - last season they got promoted to Prem - we had our lowest finish in 98 years
Tell me about plans ….
Let's moan about everything shall we? "Tell me about plans" what do you think this live video is trying to do?! 🙄
Because it’s words at the moment - if you want to hang out the bunting on the back of today, you fill your boots
My first match was in 1976 - a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then - good and bad
When I see that what they say translates into a good team / promotion fodder, then I will join you
For now, I’ve seen it all before
No one is hanging out the bunting and I don't know why you think they are.
When you get to 48 years of supporting Charlton Athletic, you will understand
Wahey, the old "I'm older than you so I know more than you" trope. Bore off Grandad
Idiotic comment - my post relates to the fact that I first went to The Valley in 1976, followed by relegation to Div 3, Charlton nearly disappearing, rescued, leave The Valley, promoted to Div 1 (against the odds), somehow staying up, going down, back to The Valley, go to Prem, staying there, but eventually going down, since then (apart from Powell champ season, and 2019) dross
So I do know more than you - I’ve lived it - deal with it
just win games and get promoted out of this shit house
Should have this as our 'This is Anfield' sign as they run out the tunnel.
It would certainly be better than the shit they have up there now, " This team never know when they're beaten" I think it says. Seriously was there a competition in a local Junior school for a sign to gee up the players as they run on to the pitch. That is just awful.
Only tuned in after Jimmy Rodwell had just finished.
Nothing out of the ordinary from Methven and Carter. A couple of hundred more season tickets sold since the end of May.
Some of the questions that were sent in are the usual standard. Lack of hot water. What beer will be sold. Solar Panels etc
The kit situation is farcical but that’s the kit company not the clubs fault
The proof in the pudding will be in 12 months time that comes from the players and management
I bet there were a few upset that they filled in the pot holes in the car park. Shurely if you want hot water in the bogs the custom is to piss in your hands?. Or is that just me?
I think, and really hope, we are now on an upward Trajectory (no political pun intended with election next week). I was grateful for last nights "update".

Grammar police have been alerted to this offensive improper syntax involving a collective noun.
I take nothing from the meeting other than they are professional polished speakers. We finished in our lowest league position in 98 years last season and that was down to them. As per usual I shall judge them on what actually happens on the pitch and not how well they come across in interviews.

I nearly had a full house on my bingo card. Was just missing the lack of locks on the cubicles

Your first sentence sums it up really.
Rodwell and Methven are both very accomplished and polished speakers. And I was actually impressed with a lot of what both said. If they follow through with what they said, the Club will be in a far stronger position going forward. I guess only time will tell if that actually happens.
The only bit I really didn't like was Rodwells answer to the question on May's future. A minute of absolute waffle that said nothing. Based on his reply, he's gone.

Yes. Like you I have seen a lot of good and bad as have been going since the late 60s.
The owners are communicating their plans for the future and positive steps have been made. Let's give them a chance.

They can't say they had an influence on transfers as it's against the rules and the club would then be under investigation.
But it's obvious that they did. They just can't say it.
As far as I recall Ellis Short doesn’t put in an actual appearance at all.
Sorry, wrong thread.
We must be the only fans in the world that want to talk about solar panels during the summer transfer window.
