"Rodrigo Bentancur has been given a 7 game ban for using a racial slur about Son. Plus a £100,000 fine for a breach of FA Rule E3 in relation to a media interview."
That's a crazy ban. For anyone who has seen the clip it was quite clearly a joke, but in any case the club dealt with it and Son accepted his apology.
Meanwhile Enzo Fernandez sang a racist song about French players, nothing done, and Thomas Partey is still playing football despite multiple rape allegations against him.
Without commenting on the rights and wrongs of the punishment, there's something incredibly Spursy that they end up losing a player for 7 league matches, after he said something about a teammate rather than an opponent...
The incident happened in his own time and so, as he plays in England, fell under the jurisdiction of the FA - unlike the situation involving Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
Fernandez was on international duty when he posted a video - which the French Football Federation (FFF) said included an alleged "racist and discriminatory" chant - of Argentina celebrating winning the Copa America, and is being investigated by world governing body Fifa.
Yeah, I know the technicalities, but its still a mystery how FIFA have done absolutely nothing.
To be honest, its no surprise at all. Aren't they the organisation that fined a player more for flashing the brand name of his pants than for racial chants against England's black players?
So Pep has extended his contract for another two years and there are strong rumours that Haaland is about to extend his contract as well to become the leagues highest earning player.
Can't imagine either would be renewing if City were about to lose their court case, so surely this means they're going to be found not guilty?

Probably going to be called guilty, but then a counter claim or whatever is made and they drag it out another 18 months or so, covering their asses for another couple of seasons

Bloody ignorant comments and hopefully learns from his actions.
The only mystery is how Enzo Fernandez has escaped punishment for something just as bad if not worse.
