Just seen the Brentford penalty... Dont see the issue with it?
Guehi is in simple terms... a f**king idiot for encroaching - Am sure someone will provide me with examples where its been ignored, but the majority of the time for a penalty, thats the easiest reason to give a re-take.
Edit: lol!... I also love how Esse scores with 5mins to play, does he grab the ball and get back to restart ASAP, and so give his side a chance of getting a draw... Nope he goes off and has a knee slide of a goal celebration. I know its his first Premier League goal, but still made me laugh
Every team in the bottom 8 has changed their manager this season, other than Ipswich and Spurs. I'd be amazed if that's not reduced to Ipswich by tomorrow morning.
And even Ipswich by the day after once McKenna departs for Spurs.
I'm trying to do some paper work as well as watching the Claret derby. Every time I look at the TV there are more players on their back than in an episode of casualty!
Bolton all season have been great going forward, but flakey at the back. They sack Evatt, and under their caretaker managers yesterday go back to basics, with a functional, more solid display, winning 1-0 at Huddersfield.
Yes Spurs have lots of injuries at the back, but there's no way they should be conceding so many goals. That's down to Big Ange and his lack of flexibility.
Spurs fielded 9 full internationals today. Yes they have a lot of injuries but no way should they be performing as bad as they are. Bournemouth have a lot of injuries and look at them.
Then again as most people know the issues with Spurs are mostly down to Levy. Tons of good managers have been and gone there but the issues still remain, so you have to look beyond the manager. We're 26 days into the window and their only signing so far to help address a big injury crisis has been to sign a goalkeeper.
Was the ref too quick….. yes, should it have gone to VAR, yes.
Was it a ‘trip’, no. Did Lewis Skelly intentionally go for the leg, yes. Was it studs up, yes. Was it above the ankle, yes. Was is cynical, yes.
Not one bit surprised VAR didn’t overturn the decision. Still think the ref was too hasty though and should have looked at VAR. But it was a dirty, nasty, dangerous foul with no intent to play the ball.
I said VAR was wonderful and I hope anyone watching the twice taken penalty by Brentford at Palace would agree 🤔
The best thing about this is that if the Palace player had not touched it and allowed the Brentford player to put the rebound away, it would have been disallowed. Ok VAR may have made it be retaken anyway, but for that moment in time....
is it safe to leave the house yet and be seen in public?
Jeez, thats got to be one of the worst performances I've watched at WHL for a very very long time.
I don't think I've ever heard anti-Levy singing as loud as it was yesterday.
Anyway, erm, where to start. Injuries to significant players yes, but still not an excuse. Ange shouldn't be setting the team up like he does. Porro, may be dead on his feet as he has played every game this season but at fault again for both goals yesterday. As much as we all complain about Levy, what is Ange's reluctance to adapt his tactics to the players he has got available to him. Hitzelburger absolutely nailed it on MOTD2 last night re: the midfield. I've said it pretty much the last 18 month, Ange has no idea what his best midfield is. Maddison reported for the game yesterday but then failed a fitness test for soreness? Like erm take some nurofen and get on with it you big jessie, no? Soreness? Yet it makes no sense that Sarr played 45 mins and should never have started apparently.
Thats enough on Ange. As for Levy, you know how I feel. I wont bang on about that but if he has one choice now. Sack Ange or back him. We're into the last week of the transfer window and we've brought in a keeper and thats it. All the reports suggest we're sticking by him. So they need to back him.
But...the fact that they haven't brought in any outfield players so far maybe suggests they are ready to pull the trigger.
Its not going to get better any time soon. Can't see where the next 3pts are coming from at the moment.
An odd situation for Spurs, in that they're in freefall in the league, but 1 game away from the EFL Cup final, and 1 win from progressing to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
Indeed for both Spurs and Man U, the Europa League could turn a very poor season into a successful one. Assuming Spurs don't get relegated
totteringham fans finally see that Levy is THE problem in N17. One trophy in 24 years under his rule says it all.
they have been saying that for years to be fair
I certainly have but its always been a divisive fan base when it comes to Levy. Not so now, he is getting everyones ire. Not that it will make one blind bit of difference. At the end of the day, he holds 25% of shares in ENIC. 65-70% is held by the Joe Lewis family trust, the remaining shares are minor investors. He isn't going to walk away while they make massive money. Even yesterday, the bars in the ground were still full 30 mins after full time.
No one can doubt that Levy's business acumen is second to none on the commercial front. He just doesn't know how to run the footballing side.
