Feel for Doc. A captain who played a huge role in our resurgence.
It's a shame he hasn't been given the farewell he deserves, or at least a gentler exit through a transfer to another club (not within our control), rather than seeing his contract terminated by mutual consent.5 -
Pretty sad about this. Always gave his best, model pro, excellent captain, just wish we could have had a home game to give him a proper farewell as he deserves that. Classy words from him and wish him all the very best wherever his career takes him next. Thanks Greg.17

Yep now he has been released that will definitely up his appeal to clubs and can see him getting a champ gig. Lincoln should be all over him.6

I'd be surprised if someone at the top end of League 1 doesn't sign him today. If you're chasing promotion and need experience, character and nous to get you out of there , Doc's your man.6

Depends how hard he negotiated..... with a year (?) left, reckon we might have tried to settle at 6 months or so.0 -

Thanks Doc, for everything you've done as a player and as our captain, both on and off the pitch, absolutely brilliant and what special times you've helped us experience.
Our youngsters, in particular, have been very fortunate to have been at the club at the same time as you.
I hope all your tomorrows bring you everything you've had with us...... and more......

A real 100 percenter and an extremely important part of why we are where we are. My abiding memory of him will obviously be Wembley but also picking up an knock against Hull and still speed hobbling around the pitch to do anything and everything he could to stop Hull and ensure our safety.
Greg will get a warm welcome anytime he comes back to The Valley and rightly so. All the best for the future Sir.8 -

I am a bit emotional about this, he was no longer a part of the club moving forward, but he is a huge part of what got us to where we currently are and a top human being.7

Love the man . Never once played without 100% full commitment and we wouldn’t be where we are without him .He will become a great player to the next team he goes to . Just not in The Championship.1

it's the right thing to do for us to evolve, but it's a very difficult decision to make I'm sure.
Jones clearly thinks a lot of him judging by his words.
Not the greatest footballer, but never gave anything less than 100% and seems a top bloke - I'm sure he'll sort out a gig very quickly, there should be plenty knocking on his door today.
would be good to see him back down the Valley for a proper send off.1 -
Pretty brutal getting rid of your captain in that way. Helped the club out last week when we needed to put out a weakened side, and like with Asiimwe is then kicked out a week later.
At least he got to play at the Spurs Stadium I suppose.
