  • Looked a bit better with 10 than with him on the pitch

Was a harsh sending off. Tried to hoof ball upfield but missed it in windy conditions. It wasn't dangerous and their player bought the red card from a poor ref. It was noticeable how quickly he sprung to his feet after red was given. The reason a player does that is he wants credit for it!

Still don’t alter the fact he is shit…🤨
  • Players can look shit because the balance is wrong. A couple of players can make a hell of a difference but the problem is we don't have them. Also Ramsey and Jones are missing and they were our best players this season.
  • It’s fair to say that Greg Docherty’s Charlton career has not been that successful so far
  • Specialist dullard brought in to establish Jones dull football. At least we dont have to see him for three games
  • Agreed, but it was a silly challenge in that he didn't need to take the risk.

There has to be a better player in there, than we are seeing. To me, he looks like a player being asked to play in a position, that he is incapable of succeeding in.

Jones thought that he could convert him into an attacking, goalscoring midfielder, and he's failed.
Just as he thought that he could convert TC into a centre forward.
He would probably look decent playing in the Coventry role.
Bad recruitment, and not what we needed.

  • So much better with 10 men and that sums his contribution up

    Waste of space
  • It's all about impact and moments and today's red card along with the goal vs Bolton are sadly all I can remember of him so far. Clearly not a great start to his Charlton career but there must be a player in there somewhere so not going to give up on him yet, I don't honestly know what his role in the team is.

I agree with this. He is IMO decent cover for Coventry but can't play the role we need him to. Not his fault we don't have that player.

  • I'm getting close to Chris Gunter levels of loathing for this guy.

The nicest way I can put it, he makes me miss Scott Fraser
He makes me miss Christophe Lepoint
    Deadly debut

What I find so hard to believe is that he's the club captain. I know that we've had plenty of poor players in recent years, but I've wracked my brains and I can't think of a captain who has been worse (either as a leader on the pitch or just doing their day job as a footballer). What on earth is he doing here?
    Stockley was pretty god awful.

That elbow against PV with the captains armband on is still a mark of shame on the badge and the band to me.

He also had it taken off him which is a pretty big rarity in Charlton terms I think.
  • I’d imagine he’s being played completely wrong - ie position and what’s being asked of him. He just can’t be this anonymous for any other reason. He’s not our worst player though, imo.
  • play him in Coventrys position and you would see a better player
  • So why have we got Coventry, Taylor, Campbell, Docherty, Anderson and possibly REG or Zack in the same squad for one slot?

    in case of injuries
  • I'm baffled why he has been so underwhelming for us. We seem to be cursed when it comes to signing midfielders, who are " highly rated" but flop with us. Gilbey, McGrandles etc
  • 2.5 more years of this park player shite must be the worst deal Charlton has done since signing Amdy Faye (teenagers ask your parents)

In the same way that the weather in Shetland is a little cooler than in the Sahara

unless you’re Greg Docherty cos you’re getting bundles and bundles of cash for fucking around on a football pitch for about one hour a week none of which involves playing much football or anything much like football

Agree. I actually noticed him on the pitch today.

Got stuck in defensively & made himself available by getting in decent positions when we had the ball.

Hopefully the change of tactics that saw us occasionally play out rather than always lumping it will help him….& others.
  • This guy has got to be my current favourite player. Never in my supporting history has one player so epitomised the rest of the team. Well done Greg, captain of the worst team we've had in living memory. One for the CV.

Disagree. This years team is better than the team we had 12 months ago. Do you not remember drawing 1-1 at home against a pub team and being out side the relegation zone by a point?

Worst team, second worst team? Does it matter?

Arguably we have a better collective of players "on paper" this year, which probably makes them a worse "team". But I'm not going to fight about it.

Tbf, even that team had more points than we do now after the same amount of games. The point is, they're both utterly dogshit.
