  • Nice of Foden to turn up 5 games in.

    Better late than never.
Yes we’ve needed him to help bail out your mate Declan for his gaff earlier…
Unbelievable isn’t it ? - every player is game for criticism except Arsenal players. Imagine being an Arsenal fan and wanting England to fail on a Charlton message board.
  • Never a pen, but we are playing well here

    Never a pen for me.

The ball has bounced up and Kane has had a shot. The defender has put his foot up to block the shot and Kane's made contact with him.

Studs up? Well, you try lifting your foot to waist-height (or higher) and not have the sole of your foot 'showing'.

The defender didn't kick Kane, it was Kane's momentum that caused the contact ... and last time I heard football was still (just about) a contact sport.
I do in Kickboxing mate. It's not hard. He only had to point his toes rather than lift them. He even nodding during the booking.

They both kicked at the ball so both kicked one another, difference being Kane connected with the ball.

Was that Mainoo with the sliding block? Lovely stuff.
He's already a vital player for us
  • Perhaps if Foden had been played in his best position more often before by Southgate we might have seen more of these types of performance. It's not as if some of us weren't saying this before the Euros.
  • Bloody hell, nearly 70% possession we have here.

Thing is Koeman will change things, maybe he already has slightly with his forced sub, but he's still got to do more on this showing.

Lets hope we can match it

Mainoo unreal, great performance from England since going behind.
  • Need one before half time to demoralise these boys.
  • Harry Bloody Kane come to a pass now and again FFS.
  • Blimey that was decent strength from Bellingham to manage to make that move, he was going down, and having a breather in another game.

Have to say, hes been the one weak link tonight

He and Trippier and Rice tbf.
  • Arghhhh thought that cross was finding Foden for a simple tap in

Trippier has been mostly quite good imo

He needs to stay in the box more. We have enough 10s and midfielders, we don't need him outside the box as well.

He was pretty poor the first 15 minutes but been ok since then.

Literally the worst use or VAR I have ever seen, absolutely ridiculous
A studs up challenge is dangerous play and is a foul and a booking. The 'obvious error' was thinking it was a clean clash of feet rather than a studs up one.
Studs up isn't mentioned in the laws....was it careless or reckless?  Obviously not
Assume you've never played the game? I've only played Sunday league level and even there a studs up challenge is dangerous and falls under the definition of reckless.
I referee.....VaR is re-refereeing the game instead of intervening in clear and obvious errors.  Show me the law that says you can't put your studs up.
Do you know who else referees? The referee tonight, and he gave a penalty. I bet he’s a better ref than you.
  • What was Ake doing in our box?
  • At least it made that irritating var expert look like a plum
  • Need to make the most of the dominance, can see us passing it around till the cows come home, only for Holland to break on us and score.

Or look to block across the path of the ball (no danger of contact) rather than straight at the ball.
  • 😂Where all the haters of VAR gone 😂
  • It's like we need to go 1-0 down before we start playing.

    Decent once we went behind.

Have to disagree there - had several chances to cross if had a left foot, amd cutting back didn't work.
