Just been watching a Eurosport girl interviewing the Gold women's Cyclists and the first question was to the cyclist who had just lost her dad, basically how crap do you feel. Sobbing and tears followed and completely ruined what was a fantastic achievement. She could just have saved time and just prodded her in the eye with a pointed stick
Honestly the amount of BBC hype I was scared she was going to go the same way as Beth Shriver in the BMX or Joe Clarke earlier in Kayak Cross but she absolutely delivered perfectly.
Sense of relief after the BBC had given her the Gold before the race. Keeley had to boss the race from the front after losing to Moraa in the World Champs last year.
Packer 64🥇 Holmes 04 🥇 Hodgkinson 24🥇
British individual female Golds on the track are rare, and winning when favourite are difficult for GB athletes over the years.

Presumably you're just referring to women?
Packer, Holmes and Hodgkinson are GB Gold medal winners just in the 800m.
GB men golds on the track ? Yes, there's been loads.

Err ..... in the timescale you're talking about then there's Coe, Ovett, Farah, Wells, Christie .... just off the top of my head!

You can add David Hemery in 400M hurdles in Mexico 68. Also Decathlon is track and field so Daley Thompson !
Peters, Lewis, Ennis in the Heptathlon where 3 of the events are on the track. Sally Gunnel in 400m hurdles 92 Christine Ohuruogu in 08 Holmes 1500m 04 same year she won the 800m
I think I heard GB have won 11 golds in Women's track and field since 1896.
Always seems strange to me how CO’s drug ban hardly ever gets a mention
Take and understand your point but she missed drug tests (a la Rio Ferdinand in football some years back) and was not banned for actually taking drugs.

(just as well really, after the BBC gave it the big one these past few days)

"You're on TV", said the excitable Gabby Logan, "Give us a wave" - no reaction whatsoever - seems they were watching on Eurosport.
More bonus money from his Shoe sponsor for yet another world record.
