    Goal line scramble
All Dulwich in the last 5. A free kick is taken quickly by Bushell and the ball eventually makes it into the box with 4 shots all being blocked in the space of 10 seconds

    Keep pushing lads 👊

    New balls please
20 minutes gone and 6 balls lost already...

    KAUNDA HITS THE BAR
A deep ball comes to the back post where Danny Mills rises to win a header across goal. It comes towards Kaunda whose acrobatic effort skims the crossbar.

A typical  give away by a Charlton team.
A poor pass across the pitch to give the ball away 30 yards out.

Boys need to liven up, we have looked awful this first 40 minutes and lucky we hadn't conceded before that, hospital ball at the back and a decent finish

On that first half performance surprised Dulwich are only mid table in the Isthmian prem.
Our players are being out muscled when on the ball.

Thought Charlton started brightly with some good pace and slick passing, but Hamlet slowly got into it and Charlton stopped playing their own game. Hamlet deservedly 1 up, but if Charlton step up a gear should win this

    That's the big thing now

First 2 rounds fitness has played a big part late on, hoping same happens today

Wanaldo unnecessarily ruffles Charlton keepers hair / head retrieving ball after penalty resulting in a melee .. men against boys ... both players booked.

This Dulwich lot ha e the same stamina levels our players have so no sign yet of tiring. Maybe one too many
    matches this week for us.

One of our coaching team got booked.

    Charlton Athletic
    PENALTY APPEAL FOR CHARLTON

The Charlton bench are fuming over a penalty claim that is not given, resulting in a booking for a member of their coaching staff

On my way home now, ended up getting on a train back to London bridge from east dulwich which was full of nigels!

Poor game for Charlton, aside from a spell at the beginning of the game, we rarely threatened. Dulwich fully deserved the win.

Crowd was announced as 460 odd. Wasnt many charlton, walked past Charlie Methven though!

Agree with this assessment.  Not sure Charlton had a shot on target. Charlton definitely the more skillfully pacier team but they failed to use this, while Hamlet had strength, commitment and drive. Hamlets Danny Mills has over 600 appearances and disrupted the Charlton defence for the first goal and the penalty decision. Wainadio, Marshall, Chambers players honed in the battles of non league.

I've heard a lot about our U21s and you cannot judge on one game, but on this showing, including Dixon, non are ready for first team action.

I thought our 8 looked the pick.  Otherwise they all looked a bit slight and we're easily out muscled.  Casey I assume was the 10 and barely completed a pass to a Charlton player all game culminating in a slanging spat between him and our 4 (was that Hobden?).  An off night for us, but all a learning curve.

I believe 8 was Mwamba, and 4 was Kedwell.

Dulwich have a couple of good players with Wainadio, Marshall is still quality at Isthmian level. Danny Mill experience & Crouch like tall size causes problems.

Dulwich this season are variable & having a poor season near the lower end off the Isthmian premium. They recently fired their manager & got a new bloke in. The results have picked up since the change of manager.

Dulwich as much of a successful cup team as Charlton. So will be surprised at the victory. Learning experience for Charlton U21.

Thanks all. The positive is they should learn more from last night than thrashing a struggling Colchester team as they did last week. No doubt they’d have missed Enslin and Laqeretabua, who the two u21s closest to the first team.

Not surprised to hear Casey showing his frustration, I’ve occasionally noticed that on the streams - nothing as major as arguing with a team mate and it shows he cares, so not necessarily a bad thing.

On players not looking ready, there’s a range of ages in the u21 squad from Fullah at 17 and Mwamba at 18, up to Toure who’s just turned 21. So it’s less concerning for the younger ones who have more room to develop and could still be growing.

We an also have a few who are used in various positions. Fulllah appears to have played RWB last night from the lineup, which I don’t see being his best position. His strengths are passing and moving, shooting from range, carrying the ball, not defending. He’s often moved between CM and WB, in other formations I expect he’s often played on the wing or higher up as a 10.

Sometimes Hobden plays WB, and being a natural defender with more physicality and aggression to his game than Fullah he plays that role very differently. That can change how the team plays, same with Enslin vs Bower at LWB, or which partnership we have up front (hopefully Mbick is back soon).
