Blimey that was a difficult interview with NJ

Hope he’s a bit more upbeat in the drsssing room
He was flexing his neck like he was a boxer going into a fight, so I'm not sure up beat is on the agenda.

That's the first properly angry NJ interview I've seen and I wouldn't want to be in that dressing room. Would expect a big shakeup next Saturday in the side even with Kanu,Anderson on international duty anyway. Think Godden is likely to come in and maybe Allan Campbell too.

To be honest I think we'll call it off based off that.

At the game. Now drinking with the reading fans who were surprised how poor we were.

Embassaing their goalies first save in the 92nd minute...

Total shambles who the f**k thought our no 9 was buying needs a head shake
He had to make a very good save in the first half & they only had one more shot on target than we did!
    They won we didnt

Two weeks time and guess there is a chance both Edwards and Leaburn could be back / on the bench

PWR. The game seemed to be going the way of others. We were solid but not spectacular and kept Reading to half chances as per previous games this season. We were were pretty comfortable and actually the better side in the second half until their worldy. Was always going to be interesting to see how we'd react to conceding and sadly it wasn't good. We looked fairly bereft of ideas and the second goal was much like what we were conceding last season.

We were pretty sloppy in possession all game today and I'm still hoping for more from Ahadme. Won't be too concerned with the defeat in the same way I wasn't getting too carried away with 3 previous wins. Be interesting to see what Jones does next, especially with the front 2.

Yep you’re right, and we didn’t deserve it.

But you were wrong about their keeper’s first save being in the 92nd minute.

Nathan Jones gives his reaction to our first league defeat of the season
I bet he gets a spare seat next to him on the coach home.

He hates losing, especially when it’s due to self inflicted nonsense. This is who he is.

Nah, I like to see that in a manager, he takes defeat as badly as thousands of fans!

We've got the 3 callups so we can do it no problem, I'm just surprised we haven't done it yet.

Have we seen a plan B yet this season?

    Plan A: win

    Plan B: lose

    I prefer Plan A.

That coach journey back to Sparrows Lane is going to be awkward as hell. Who’s the first player to crack a smile and risk the wrath of NJ?

They were the better team overall, but goals change games and we were well on top when they scored their worldy. Had we scored then I think we'd have gone on to win, but ifs and buts. We weren't awful, but we weren't at our best and had seemingly forgotten the press for much of the game that we started the second half with.

Even so, Reading have had a very decent start with tricky opposition, and look like they'll be competitive this year too. Long way to go. Our start is very decent too.

I actually though Terry was moving slightly backwards in that interview and it did make me chuckle.... There's probably already a blood splatter pattern on the dressing room wall if Nathan's demeanor was anything to go by!

Yes, the interview was a bit dramatic but the bloke has convinced a lot of people to back him up and he clearly feels let down by the players.

I expect some changes next week but we have to stick with him, he deserves that much after saving us from a fate worse than Appleton.

Expect to see Potts coming in too.

Did the keeper touch the ball that resulted in the throw in? Where I was sat i was unsure if he did 🫤

Or is he angry in general and that’s how it has erupted . It’s not a good look

Was hard to tell from the live stream. Either way, the way we reacted to it was criminal.

Definitely no hand ball in the area though, so not sure where the stonewall penalty NJ was referring to was.
  • Going from that post match interview with Nathan, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall, he is absolutely raging at our overall play, particularly regarding the second goal.
Everyone was below par today for some reason, and I can see some very unhappy players after listening to Nathans rant, cos he would have been fuming.
So maybe Rotherham next week, maybe not, I kinda got the feeling that Nathan would welcome the postponement, maybe in order to re educate some players in the way he expects us to play.
We were a pale shadow of the first three games, against Bolton in particular, and basically Reading just outplayed us today, giving us no room and space, however we should have been able to overcome this, they ain't bloody Brazil ffs.
So, be interesting to see how the next game goes, whenever that is because a repeat of today cannot be tolerated...

Kind of irrelevant really. It was a throw in halfway inside the Reading half which they’ve scored from inside 10 seconds. It’s proper poor defending that last season’s lot would’ve been proud of.

Just a sign that if we dip beyond our effort levels , we haven’t got a lot of quality

First defeat so no point being overly critical but the Ahadme and Campbell combo hasn't resulted in a goal in 4 games
    And most are not surprised.

I know apologies must watch it on TV next time instead of contributing to the game.
  • Looked solid in defence except when we weren't.  Uninspiring in attack.  On to Rotherham.
