I read this as he’s been doing this since the summer so we won’t see any difference to what happens off the pitch already.May occasionally be named in the squad I guess so little to take issue with.0

The question for me is:
Is he a player/coach or coach/player?
The latter makes more sense to me given his age, recent record and our other options but perhaps not the case.2 -

Apparently he’s class for this!!😂0 -
Interesting that he was a part time academy coach at Luton from November last year, as he was still registered a player at Northampton, making 4 sub appearances around Christmas.0

If he makes it into a squad we're doing something wrong.0

Or have lots of injuries?1

I think Hylton might make the bench in games against some teams where we're expecting it to be ugly and we're hoping to see a game out as nastily as possible. I actually wouldn't be shocked if he made the bench against someone like Birmingham. Have Aneke, Godden and Hylton on the bench, bring Aneke and Godden on if we need a goal or bring Hylton on late on if we're 1-0 up and use him to completely kill the other team's momentum and just generally be a shit

I can see Hylton just being a liability if he came on at the end of a crunch game, as he'd be off the pace and just give away free kicks from late tackles.2
-
Depends which budget it comes from really, if it's player wages I think it's a waste.0

Luton B1

If he’s coaching the strikers then I’m in favour.
I can’t see the need for him as a player, barring emergencies such as 3 strikers out injured, which isn’t impossible.2 -

Makes perfect sense cover if anything happens to Leaburn and there to coach the young strikers … not sure why it took 2 weeks to announce he signed the morning of the Rotherham match4

As long as he is not number 10001

Playing with 2 strikers , surely its a good thing having a coach to coach them, makes sense , having seen our prematch warmups / shooting at goal, down the years, its been absolutely woeful, i've been advocating having a striker as a coach for years.0

With a lot of young strikers, it is something we could benefit from I would expect.0

Danny Hylton is very well versed in the darker arts of being a striker and will be able to pass that on to all of our strikers, particularly the young ones including Miles. UEFA B license and working towards A so has the knowledge. Jones knows him well and vice versa. A short term deal to I suppose see how it works out. Really can’t see why there are negative comments. Won’t be near first team squad unless we’re decimated. Jones has fought hard against resistance from Scott to get this done so I’m happy it’s resolved. Blocking what Jones sees best doesn’t seem like a good idea to me.6

Is this Jones just helping a mate out? Hylton needs to be attached to club and coaching to complete his A license. Rather than some cunning master plan it could be just someone doing a mate a favour, with a minimal benefit to Charlton. Perhaps explains the low key/late announcement. The delay could’ve been Jones having to persuade the rest of the SMT.2
