  • Still not convinced, he beat a team who are in woeful form and without a manager.

Win 5 in a row, then give some back to the fans. The little pops back are pathetic.
There was no pop back at the fans.…

Who was Jones referring to then when he said about the unjustified criticism?

Probably the same people he was demanding should trust him to manage this football club after the Birmingham game…

1 (dire) win in 9 after that Birmingham game, and a lot of failing to do the basics

We’re playing the worst football the valley has ever seen, have only managed to beat bottom placed Burton (who had 10 men) in the last 8 league games & are on track to repeat our ‘lowest finish for 98 years’ record but the owners do not see any immediate concern??
I think Gavin Carter’s new role suggests they have concerns but expect they don’t want to keep sacking managers. We’d likely end up with an appointment part way through the transfer window which isn’t ideal.

Unless there is a dramatic turnaround in our fortunes very soon, I will be amazed if Methven, Rodwell and Scott are still at Charlton come the start of next season.

At last, it looks like you're coming around to the fact we are in trouble.
If by trouble you mean treading water in League One, I know.

If by trouble you mean relegation, you’ve been saying that the last three years…

In the last 12 game form table we are firmly in the relegation zone. It took two changes of management to get us out of this position last season.
Think we are above Northampton now (also don't think today's game did harm to the goal difference) 😉
And in the last 1 game form table we’re top of the league!
Now we got Nathan we're fu**** clobblers

Trying to remain objective and not get too carried away, but there's still cautionary details for me - yes we played well and the attacking play was much more convincing BUT it was against a team that is not doing particularly well and there was a bit of luck in that (for once) a lot of those indefinable things fell in our favour more than against us.

While a 5-0 win is excellent, we've got to try and start getting more basic 2-0 or 2-1 type wins against decent teams before we can get too enthused.

We had 15 shots today, 7 on target, 5 goals. That won't happen every week, we need to be winning games where we might only get 4 or 5 chances instead.
(Being) 2-0/ 2-1 (up) and Charlton Athletic FC do not mix well.

  • Said it on the post match thread. I’m not convinced. We shall see.
  • I understand, but it is enought to build up the faith again (for it to then get lost in that boxing day hangover)

Give the bloke some time. When it clicks, which I hope was  yesterday, we will have a great chance if getting promoted.
Let's see over the next few games if we can keep performing l.

Too much manager sacking when things don't look rosy in my opinion. Enjoy the journey and the lows make you appreciate the highs even more.
I'm sorry but I'm not buying this at all, the "when it clicks" stuff is bollocks. We've been absolutely awful for months, literally. We've not been unlucky, we've not been creating chances that we just failed to put away, we've not been letting in an unfortunate number of worldies.

We've been toothless up front, error prone in defence and had a midfield that can run around a lot but looks terrified of the actual ball itself.

That system, that method, never ever looked like "clicking" at all. Any POSSIBLE recovery (and even that is not confirmed yet) is by FINALLY giving up on the sufferball shite and attempting more progressive football.

Jones gets more time based on the latest couple of results and signs he might just change his system... but he's still been a massive disappointment so far this season, no matter how many goals we put past Northampton.

I watched two of our academy graduates enjoy seeing their winning contributions to the game and they made a difference.
I can only imagine spending that much of ones life for those few moments, and then when I don't quite perform seeing grownup people shout and berate me from the stands and  also now from social media try and tell me I am not worthy.
Then as a manager of the game, when I try to change a whole club, that has been losing its way for so many years and for so many reasons, that this can be achieved in less than 12 months is quite frankly laughable.
There is no quick fix, there is no spend lots of money and become a Manchester club.
We need a complete rebuild, from culture, finance and structure. Perhaps Nathan can't take us to the Premiership but I believe he can, with all the support, take us to the top 4  EFL.
It is a journey, accept the lows.
    We cannot keep sacking managers
