Has anyone sensible at the Club coordinated with their Gather & Gather contact to make sure the kiosks are all open and staffed/supervised? Bit pointless filling the stadium if you don’t take advantage boosting your beer & food sales as much as possible.
I miss the good old days of standing on the terraces, cig in your hand while screaming shite at the top of your voice. Then all of a sudden getting a warm sensation down the back of your leg. The games now gone.
Match day scarves and enamel badges have been around for years and for the most obscure fixtures. If some day trippers want to buy one to get likes on their socials then take the money I say.
A lot of you seem to be missing the point. Merchandise like this aren’t aimed at Charlton fans, these are for the day trippers and those coming to see Wrexham.
The club shop will be full of them and posing for selfies outside
I bet I am not the only lifer here who was at the Valley the last time we played a league game against Wrexham at the (old and beloved) Valley. It was a 1-0 win on the second of February 1982, with an attendance of 4561 of us. It was a 'division two' (nowadays the Championship) match. We have not played each other in any competition since then.
I also remember going to Wrexham around one Christmas back in the day when we won 3-0. Powell played a superb game that day.
Anybody remember our goalscorer the last time we played?

So we are willing to sell our soul and swallow our pride, for a few day trippers giving the club an extra few thousand?
Doesn't seem like the type of strategy laid out by billionaires, they aren't that desperate for cash surely.
There's no point being missed, everyone can see exactly what the club has done, and how the day has always been about capitalising on Wrexhams clout from the very start. Doesn't mean it isn't fkn embarrassing.

December 74, not that I was there
Jeez nearly fifty years ago!
I am trying to track down the name of our last goalscorer against them in 82.

That is fucking indefensible for the official club to stock in my opinion.
It’s stuff that shows you that people making decisions at the club have absolutely no concept whatsoever of identity and being a proper fan of a club.
It’s all about the event and building the bottom line profit. Not saying that’s not important, but there’s an integrity to it and these people have no understanding of that.
Any thoughts on what you should do when the person next to you starts to live stream on their YouTube Channel "what's happening guys, your boi <insert name> here, at the Valley in London...."

A reminder the club are also paying that wanker Goldbridge to live stream the game
I cant wait to get there and see the Valley with a crowd over 20k after all the years of sitting looking around at a half empty stadium. I honestly dont care if 10,000 of them are tourists, they have bought their tickets and I hope they get to see a great game and enjoy the day, if so some will come back, the club needs to build and this will help without doubt. All this "proper" Charlton is a negative perspective
5 tourists from Denmark came to watch the Birmingham game whilst on a trip to London, drank in the local pubs, bought items in the club shop, loved the game and the atmosphere and now consider Charlton to be their English team, who they will make an effort to come and see again. Whilst tourists are enjoying themselves and not taking tickets away from 'diehards' it's only a good thing.
They'd probably adopt Wrexham as their Welsh club!

So we’re happy to be playing our part in building the already enormous brand of a direct competitor in the same division just for a few hundred quid?

Just let new fans come organically
