I knew there must’ve a reason he played so many games for Plymouth’s title winning side a couple of years back. And we’re seeing proof now that he wasn’t just an average player hiding in a team of players better than him.
I dunno. I think NJ takes a lot of credit for getting best out of him. He’s another one that needed his confidence rebuilding but he has also been coached into a better player. The back 3 were all great today, as they are most weeks. It’s such a wel balanced unit and doesn’t really seem to have any significant weaknesses - pace, movement, brute force, aerial bombardments, all three of the can handle all of those things.
A lovely long PASS to his CB partner Lloyd Jones who brought it down fairly well but a sweeper keeper would've got their first but fortunately the stand in keeper stood still and the assist from Jones found it's way to Golden Godden.
Joins the weirdly specific honour roll with Purrington and Sarr (sort of) of left-sided defenders scoring in Playoff finals.
Also moves to 6 goals and 3 assists, going ahead of Sarr's 3 goals and 5 assists as our most prolific centre back. Considering what a solid and defensively-minded team we are that's an absolutely incredible return from him. Top lad
Said to the old boy and my daughter Gillesphey the three is shooting from this. At the time both Gilbert and Gilly were stood over the ball and I just knew it'd be a shot.

Bet you were thinking bottom right corner (just like me)

Expected it to be drilled under the wall. Was happy either way.
