Sarr's balls were beautiful. It helped we had players that could read a ball.
Llera's were okay. Far from ideal.
Gillesphey's are blue, cos they never cum good.
Llera's were the absolute epitome of hit and hope. People just thought at the time that they were something better because he took a little bit of time over them. They were still shite. Like Llera in general, really.
Llera's looked better as he had Lloyd Sam running onto them.

We used to enjoy El Kharkouri’s punts from a more central position, known as the El Kharkouri angle
I imagine we probably strengthen in his position over the summer but, as much as he gets pelters for his long punts, he’s actually very underrated as far as his passing goes.
We need to make sure that, with any potential replacement, we don’t lose the ability to mix it up and keep teams guessing. I don’t think we get away with having a left footed Alex Mitchell in there, for instance.
I'm not the biggest Gillesphey fan, but he has been a big part of our new resilience this season. He's not ideal, but neither is Mitchell and Jones wasnt last season tbf. I haven't seen today's goals, but he's been decent this season.

I’d probably watch today’s goals first. Adds to the catalogue of errors from Gillesphy.
Every team needs a scapegoat I guess! Players make mistakes (Jones' clanger on the same ground was highlighted above)! If Gillesphey is yours, then so be it. Definitely at fault for the 2nd. No question about that. "Goals" is a bit harsh on the fella though! COYA
Amazing what happens in the space of a month. Not calling out anyone specifically as I am as guilty as anyone, these were just the first I found/randomly picked.
I slagged him off for ages. He has recently proved me and a lot of others wrong big time. Long may the new improved Gilly continue and help us get promoted.

Diagonal long passes happen a lot in the Premier as a game gets stretched. The difference is players like TAA has a high percentage of success. Ironically against Liverpool it can also be successful when Robertson and Trent are pushing forward as the space behind them is there for an accurate long pass and the skilled Forwards or opposition wing backs to exploit. With the high line of teams like Spurs, Brighton and Liverpool the game is all about accuracy of the pass and the movement of players.
There are only good passes whether short or long; Movement is mandatory. That was a real problem when Ahadme, Godden and a still not up to speed Leaburn were picked on two occasions to be the front 3.
Nabby Sarr's long Diagonal pass to Lyle Taylor to score is still etched in my mind.
Macca did a sublime longish diagonal pass to Berry which he couldn't control but also Gillesphey is looking stronger and more confident with Jones beside him and the talented Edwards and Ramsey to help out.
Amazing upturn in his and Charlton's fortune in '25' so far.

Before that, Nabby also had a lot of diagonals that soared out of play. My brother and I would extend his "Feliz Nabby Sarr" song with "Feliz Nabby Sarr, he's tried to switch it but it's gone too far..."

Yes, the vast majority of the Nabster's diagonals did fine touch which would've graced Twickenham!
Good luck to him. I still think he's our weakest link and in a poorer side he'd look a lot worse, but I’ll support him and cannot fault his effort.
One of those players who has the ability to play in a good team, but won’t stand out and could struggle in a poor one.
He’s also got better competition in McIntyre than he did in Potts, who rarely seemed to be fit to play. That may have had an impact too.
There’s always a place for players like him in a L1 promotion team, unless you have a Birmingham sized budget no one has a starting 11 of good Championship players. Look at Powell and Bowyer’s teams, not everyone looked comfortable in the Championship.

Our latest Defender that can do no wrong hasnt exactly got fond memories of Blackpool in a Charlton shirt
Solid performance for the most part, made a mistake but we still had time to deal with it

….and that’s really all he’s got in his locker.
lacks pace and cost us today. I’d play Edwards there, Mitchell on the right of the 3 and Ramsey and Small as wingbacks
unless we can suddenly sign a left footed CB in 2 days
