He has definitely improved in all arears tbf. The weakest link is still the Goalkeeper for me.
They really aren't. We really wouldn't be keeping 15 clean sheets if they were both bad keepers. If they are Championship standard keepers is problematical but for a discussion in June.
Do you watch the highlights of other keepers in league 1 or the mistakes recently by our opposition glovemen?
The weakness is in the midfield which is a difficult job as they are involved so much. Coventry's game has gone up a level since there has been an obvious change of tactics with the attacks down the flanks and passes made out wide but I focused on Berry against Barnsley and despite running his heart out he struggled to strike with any power, got knocked off the ball too easily and was off the pace all game. The wonderful brace earlier in the season has vanished from his game. Anderson is still a work in progress but has great stamina but needs a better touch on the ball.

Goalkeepers are as good as the structure in front of them, which is the best we’ve had for a long time . A product of the strong defence is that the goalkeepers are more confident because of it , which is a good thing. A hybrid of the two would be some keeper , but one lacks what the other has . I’d still be looking to strengthen that area if possible , whichever division we are in .
He’s a good player. We wouldn’t have the goals conceded and clean sheet record we do if he was as bad as some were calling him.
We just always need a good scapegoat and he was the pick up until very recently. Mad how a couple of goals, even just from a defender, can change opinions.

They hardly have anything to do tbf, but when they do it seems to hit the net most of the time...

Don’t get too high or too low applies here too.
Gillesphey has played well recently and cut out the mistakes but my opinion hasn't changed really - if / when we go up, who would you be looking to upgrade on to improve the starting 11? For me, he would still be one of those, along with Berry and Docherty. I'd then start looking at other areas.

That just isn't true over the whole season. You are saying they are the weak links in the team and I disagree.
That's fine, that how a football forum should work when 99% of the members on CL are Charlton fans or critics.
He’s a good player for this level, would need upgrading if we went up but would then become a good bench option. Has a mistake in him but that’s why he’s in L1. Seems a nice lad too and clearly loves being here

second part was a little tongue in cheek But in general I think GK will be the first position NJ will look to improve for next season

Given how hard he tried last summer you’re probably right. Would probably expect AMB out the door too which would be a shame but probably for the best
You don’t even need to be a professional footballer to smash a long diagonal punt. ….and that’s really all he’s got in his locker.
lacks pace and cost us today. I’d play Edwards there, Mitchell on the right of the 3 and Ramsey and Small as wingbacks
unless we can suddenly sign a left footed CB in 2 days
I really do find this quite offensive, for a professional who has worked so hard and sacrificed so much, no doubt in his career/life, I think that’s a really harsh comment to make. To say he is limited to a diagonal punt. Your opinion though!
