Hearing grumbles from my "in" that some senior players aren't happy with current set up. Whether that means tactics or whatever I'm not sure but hardly surprising
    Any names?

Thought the players seem right behind Jones at the weekend and, if anything, have been bemused by fans anger recently, rightly or wrongly.

People seeing what they want to see?
Lloyd Jones very clearly gave Nathan his backing after the game on Saturday. There was one fan shouting some abuse, Lloyd was very dismissive of it and then turned around and hugged Nathan

Not surprised. Nathan Jones isn't going to work for everyone but think about what a wreck Lloyd was under Appleton and Curtis and then how central he's become to our fortunes this season. He's a player reborn under Jones after looking like he never wanted to step onto a pitch again at one point last season
Yes it’s not surprising. But that is our vice captain and definitely a leader in the dressing room

I don’t think there is much behind any comments that Jones is losing or has lost the dressing room

One other thing to consider is that the young Carl Leaburn was playing in division 1 equivalent to the premiership today.

That said Miles, albeit at a lower level, started his career well but the injuries, given their seriousness, have taken their toll and it will take time for him to return to the levels he was aspiring to before the last serious injury.
Hmmmmmm- Div 1(based mainly of English/Scottish/Welsh hoof ballers)  was equivalent to the Premiership ( wages of which attracts the best talent from all over the world).......I dont think so

They do share the same name
  • I still wonder if we're putting too much too soon on the shoulders of our youngsters?
I got around to watching the monthly CTV panel discussion today and thought it was interesting when they talked about our cup game with Chelsea U21s............ paraphrasing, but they said how difficult it was for the Chelsea youngsters to cope with the physicality and experience levels in 'mens' football.
We have variously 2 or 3 youngsters regularly in our first team........ NA, ZM, TS, KA, ML & DK...... depending on the injury situation. If they really can't cope too well it puts pressure on them and pressure on the other 8 or 9 guys on the pitch too.
If we're going to continue with front foot, high press football I hope we sign a couple of players in January who have the experience, physicality and lung power and quality to help out more than some of our current squad.

The line we’ve had more clean sheets than last season isn’t ridiculous, it’s fact!! It’s the only positive we have so far this season.
Exactly this. Defensively whilst we could obviously be better, it is far from our main issue. We've conceded less than Wycombe who are top, and of the 11 sides above us we've conceded less than 6 of them.

If we could get some width, pace and creativity into the side, we could actually be half decent.
Quite a lot to sort out but it can be done.

More worrying, is how has a squad been assembled that is so unbalanced? We're talking about a big club at this level....not Burton Albion. Quite frankly, it's a piss-take for supporters who pay a lot of money to follow the club.
The thing I couldn't belive was the lack of wingers. He left us with only TC as the only natural winger but even played him up top. He fully committed to 3-5-2 just seems totally nieve
Saturday was the first game in 18 that the wing backs were allowed to get forward, because of the conditions neither Edwards or Tyreece Campbell had their best games but Campbell did set up our best chance and they weren't beaten too many times down the flanks either. I don't have a problem with the wing back system but in the previous games Nathan Jones has made it a back five as the wing backs didn't get forward, and in the interview after the game Nathan Jones was ecstatic with the amount of clean sheets achieved but I so much wanted Terry to say ' That's great Nathan but we are shit up front, ain't we' .

Top level of English football as opposed to third level.

How good or bad those respective eras are or were in relation to each other is a separate debate to the development and contribution of Leaburn Senior and Junior.
