  • Did anyone see how the dugout window broke today? Not sure if NJ punched it or some debris hit it, but there was a big chunk of plastic causing quite a lot of debate among the stewards and ground staff!!
  • Looking forward to watching better football at my son’s U-12 game tomorrow in the pissing rain.
  • Paul Elliott (the non exec director) currently posing for selfies in the pub by the station with the life long fan. Just bought another pint, so not on the same train as fans who are a tad peeved...
  • Only saw the 1st half but compared to the last two matches we accurately passed the ball on the ground and used the width. A better balanced team but Taylor is hit and miss and he may have taken the 2nd worse corner ever. The little winger from Spurs on loan was probably worse !

I expected the 2nd half to be worse in absolutely terrible conditions.

More excuse today for the final ball being bad than normal and Lincoln struggled in those conditions.

If cafc hadn't been so turgid in 90% of matches this season then a point at Lincoln where we hadn't won since 1958 in the League would've been an ok point.

    We need better.
We didn’t play there in the league for 60 years. Got fed up with this from the Sky commentator. Completely meaningless!

    ...............
You are correct but I love stats even when like possession stats percentages they don't tell the true story.

We have played at Lincoln 9 times in the league since the 3-2 win in 58 which is still disappointing considering the wins we have had at Chelsea and West Ham when checking our last 9 results at the two London Premier clubs.

The amount of fans clapping that. I have no words. And leaburn was laughing at full time when crisitcised, he will never play in the premier league.
    What does this mean ?
It means we are shit and Leaburn is also shit, Mr clever.
I don't think anyone was trying to be smart Buttle, it was a genuine inquiry because to sounded like you were there and saw something off camera, so were you there and what did you pick upon ?

It certainly seems they were. Leaburn was laughing at full time when being criticised. That's what I'm getting at. He thinks he's the bollocks but is proving to be a shit footballer who doesn't want to play for us.
Where you there mate, I didn't see that or hear the criticism, not saying you are wrong at all but shocked if Leaburn is responding like that.
Yes mate. We were both there and he laughed at the criticism.  Seems to think he's something special. But believe me. He's not.
That's good enough for me. I don't have any insider knowledge but there is no smoke without fire and am wondering if a gentlemen's agreement has already been done for a move in January, it would explain the top heavy nature of out front seven, also Leaburn's performances and his reaction today.

Given being out of action for 16 months I'll be amazed if a club signs him.  We'll certainly not get much dough for him either.
  • The other thing mentioned by the commentator was TC leaning back to shoot following one of our better moves.  Needless to say the ball was hoisted skyward.  Why on Earth do players do this?
Really? We were taught at about 11 years old don't lean back  :/

One of the worst games of football I think I've ever had the displeasure of watching live. We have so many awful players lacking even a shred of quality. Going nowhere jnder Jones. Can't believe some were chanting his name at FT
Feel like I read that first sentence on here every week

  • Palace go 1-0 up v Man City and some fans are sort of pleased with a point at Lincoln and I’m one of those cnuts, load of shit
It's like Beelzebub shoving a red hot poker up your arse that!
I'll take your word for that SJ  :#
  • Away crowd announced at the game as 652. Did a decent job of keeping the noise going when it would have been a lot easier to stay home after the dismal performances of recent weeks.

The only real positive about the game was that the defence looked solid and played well. But that's better than a poke in the eye. Now if we can have a similar improvement elsewhere on the pitch please.
  • We simply do not pass the ball to each other. It’s terrible to watch, today we played 2/3 thru balls on the deck in 90 minutes and that is actually an improvement, another year in Lesgue 1 beckons🤬
  • My trial offer on sky sports due to end soon. Can't come soon enough for me as the red button makes me see red when we're on.
  • Very poor game between two very poor sides in difficult conditions. Yeah, we tried to keep it on the floor but even the simple passes were either over or under hit or misdirected. The lack of quality is astounding. During the game I was praying for something good to happen, a good move or individual piece of skill but alas it didn't materialise and the game lived up to my very low expectations. I honestly don't think we are capable of anything better which is as worrying as it is sad.
I thought Taylor had a good game today and Jones made a big difference in defence. No one else in midfield or up front deserved any credit in my view.
I hope everyone had, or is having a safe journey home as the weather has really turned bad..

So this “criticism” . Would it have been criticism of the “ “*** off, Lesburn you lazy **** “ type? See, I can’t quite imagine it was anything else. So how else do you expect a 20 year old to “react”? Come over and humbly ask you for advice ?
Thanks for making assumptions because you can't possibly imagine someone criticizing him, it wasn't that at all actually. If it wasn't for his parents he'd be in Germany now. He will leave in January or on a free at the end of the season, 100%.

Given he's contracted until 2026 I doubt he'll go for free in the summer
My bad, looks like he'll be here for a while then. As no one would pay a decent fee for him 😂

Just imagine if we hadn't surprised the opposition by the return of players from injury after several weeks.

Since the return of Ahadme, Leaburn, Kanu, and Jones, we have really capitalised on a mixture of 0 and 1 point results in league games. Keep it up Charlton!

Or it could just be that he only recently turned 20 and had fans screaming abuse at him and the players so reacted poorly which would be understandable.
Sorry but I think you are wrong. He doesn't seem to care any more and thinks he's better than everyone else. At least Ahadme tries his hardest.

We’ll think back to this game when the players are parading the league trophy around the Valley on the last day of the season.
    Which season would that be?
2033: Promotion to Division Two (Championship)
2037: Promotion to Divion One (Prem)

Not going to repeat my longer post from the other day but I don’t get writing off Leaburn. He’s shown plenty of ability before his injury, signs of it this season with his cup goals and some decent moments in league games. He’s still only 21 and returning from a serious injury.

Maybe his attitude isn’t what it should be, but it’s not unusual for young players to be inconsistent and not always do what’s expected. He’s young enough that his potential is still there and to learn from mistakes to help him get there.

I’m also not sure there’s a single player in our first team this season who’s thriving and hitting their best possible form. Who could in a team playing like this?
Not written him off at all. But he clearly wants out and doesn't appear to be trying. 21 or not that isn't good enough. He is seemingly immune from criticism as our fans chant the name of a player who doesn't give a fuck and is playing poorly.

Trying not to stir this anymore than necessary but wasn't Leaburn's departure something that was part of Charlie's selling pitch to investors ?

Maybe he just absolutely hates the way he keeps receiving a continuous stream of long balls at his head. His whole youth development was about ball playing progressive football.

I think it might of been, currently I wish we snapped their hand off but he was persuaded to stay for the benefit of his development (and the clubs wallet)
