That was dreadful in terms of any quality from either side, Lincoln marginally better Taylor and Jones not just the standouts but probably the only players that were anything more than 6/10 A painful watch safe trip back to the 3/400 that made it
Yeah on a beautiful sunny day as well. I get the downbeat tone, I was as furious as anyone after Tuesday but nobody on this site predicted a point or an improved performance.
The thing that really stood out for me today, even taking the difficult conditions into account, is that our team is made up of players who, frankly, just aren’t as good as we think they are. I think we, as fans, have expectations and hope, then we witness occasional good moments and we latch on to the idea that these players are decent.
But actually, they’re pretty bad at football.
I’m on the fence about NJ. On the one hand, he must take a lot of the blame for tactics and some of the recruitment. On the other hand, I look at how poor these guys look as footballers, I wonder if it’s a miracle we have as many points as we do?
To put it another way - would a different manager be able to get a tune out of these players? I’m not sure they could.
A low quality match in awful conditions between two teams in poor form - hardly surprising that it ended in a goalless draw. But very welcome signs that Charlton were at least trying to play more of a passing game, playing out from the back and through the lines.
Not going to focus too much on individual players but I thought that Terry Taylor was very good and that we looked a lot more solid with Lloyd Jones back in the side.
No, not really that much to get excited about but a well earned point.
One of the worst games of football I think I've ever had the displeasure of watching live. We have so many awful players lacking even a shred of quality. Going nowhere jnder Jones. Can't believe some were chanting his name at FT
So it was worth the effort by you in the end?
Ask me again when the feeling in my toes comes back
Much better than Tuesday but still not good enough. It sounded as if the conditions were a bit of a leveller and thus we couldn't execute aerially properly, while also not really being good enough on the ground.
Overall a poor game of football, and one where judgement can't be passed effectively cos of the weather, but I am thoroughly unconvinced our passing and movement is where it has to be.
The only good thing about that was listening to well informed and articulate commentator who knew when to speak and when to keep quiet.
Otherwise utter shite with our brand being slightly less smelly than theirs. We were better than Tuesday in that we had some width but that’s like saying a kick in the nuts is better than a poke in the eye. Fast approaching “can’t be bothered anymore”.
If Ahadme is a league 1 standard striker, I am the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful. If that performance was supposed to be some sort of positive reaction to Tuesday night then I genuinely fear for the rest of our season.
The amount of fans clapping that. I have no words. And leaburn was laughing at full time when crisitcised, he will never play in the premier league.
Had Lloyd Jones throwing his arms up in disbelief that some fans were being critical at FT as well. They're deluded if they think that was a good performance
The other thing mentioned by the commentator was TC leaning back to shoot following one of our better moves. Needless to say the ball was hoisted skyward. Why on Earth do players do this?
Think the weather was a bigger factor in that than either of the actual teams. It’s a low bar but in previous seasons that would have been a guaranteed loss.
There seems a lot of negativity towards Allan Campbell which I don't get.
As an unfit man close to 50; watching him play gives me hope... That I may still get a game one day. I even bought by boots to The Valley last Tuesday in case.
Didn't watch today but sounds like the conditions would have made an entertaining match unlikely. We got a point, kept a clean sheet and Jones came back so ok from that sense.
It was better than Tuesday. Lloyd Jones being back showed how we've missed him, but I thought we looked much better defensively. Taylor played OK - Anderson, A. Campbell why? No point playing Gas if we don't send in crosses! A point is a point, but even allowing for the weather, we are a poor side with a few good players, and crap tactics. There needs to be a massive 'step change' before Christmas fixtures. I still want to see the back of Scott, Charlieboy and Rodwell. Jones lives another day, but something needs to happen and sharpish.

I'm going to be a bit more positive.

What a totally joyless club we are to support.
No spark, no plan to move the ball forward and other that Terry Taylor there was no attempt to play attacking football and play smart! Just awful!
My hair looks nice though 😜

Having Jones back improved our defence but Brewer does worry me.
Thought we shaded the second half and it leaves me much happier up here this weekend then had we lost.
This NJ and his team are clueless pricks.
