Not read the whole thread so apologies if it has already been mentioned. Watched Joy - The Birth of IVF on Netflix a couple of nights ago. Not an Xmas film (obvs) but a really good watch, Bill Nigh, Thomasine McKenzie and James Norton are all excellent. A story I knew nothing about, real eye opener and thought provoking.

I love Inglorious Basterds but Saving Private Ryan would be my film of the day.

Just watching The Searchers on BBC2.

It's a good film, but I've never really "got" or understood the, frankly bizarre, "comedy" scenes that are littered throughout it (eg. Any scene involving Charlie McCorry). For me they ruin the film and stop it being a truly great film.
