    I didn't think it was as good as it could have been and a bit disappointed with the Southampton docks bit which as anyone who lives in Southampton could tell immediately it wasn't Southampton docks at all.
    It was actually filmed in Newport docks with the Southampton sign superimposed. Perhaps the budget had run out.
    Obviously I don't come from Southampton so I'm not as upset as the local yokels but I can't see the point of making it a big thing about going to Southampton when Ness wasn't actually getting on cruise ship.

    So a programme predominantly filmed in wales should shlep all the way to Southampton docks for authenticity?

    I am also gonna hazard a guess they didn’t actually keep driving between Barry and Billericay either to film those scenes in Pam and Micks house

    Pam and Mick’s house in Billericay is actually in Powys.

    Things are normally filmed in alternative locations, it’s really not a big deal.

    The point I was making is that they could have just said it was Newport docks rather than try to pad out the episode by saying they had to drive all the way to Southampton. 
    Sorry if people are upset for pointing out that it wasn't filmed where they said it was. 😞

     I'm going to disappoint you even more then.
    None of the Essex stuff was filmed in Billericay. Or even Essex. Not a bit of it!
    Even The shipmans lovely gaff is  also in Wales.

    Suppose you'll never watch it again now :-)

    Presumably the wedding was in Essex, fair old drive on Dave’s Coaches to Newport 😂

    The ONLY negative was not having Deano otherwise pretty much perfection

    'Pam and Mick's house' is in a village called Dinas Powys a few miles from Barry.

    I can't believe they expect us to think they got onto the M25, over QE2 Bridge and round the M25 that quick...

    I assumed that was the joke. It finally explained why he was so annoyed at the christening, because it was his own name being laughed at.

    1. In various locations in the USA, although some of the original 1968 version was filmed in Tenerife.

    2. No, although humans are apes by true definition, in which case, yes.

    In fairness the wedding was in Essex, so they'd have had to pad out the episode by then driving all the way to Newport.

    I would rather attempt humour than be a full grown adult embarrassing himself by having a tantrum over the location that a tv show was filmed.
