Scores are level without further loss of wickets0

200 up for England0
-
200 up. Only 3 down with a lead of 17.
If we can get to close of play with no more than 5 down and a lead of 100 then it might make tomorrow a tad exciting....esp if we can get a lead of 180+.0 -
Bethel in the nervous 90's.0
-
Bethell has his maiden FC century! Second innings, day four at the SCG.2
-
Bethel finally brings up his century. Taking on Webster by coming down the track & lofting him over mid wicket for 4.
103*2 -
Now for Brook to do the same.0
-
His dad’s reaction to the boundary he hit for the ton was special. He just wanted to hug the folks around him.2
-
100 partnership up between Bethell and Brook
218-3, lead by 35.
Bethell 106
Brook 411 -
219-4
Brook lbw to Webster after a review. Clipping the bails like Root’s but somehow this one kept a mm lower and it’s not an umpire’s call.0 -

Jacks in at 6 after Stokes’ injury earlier in the day.0
-
219-5
Jacks heaves into the deep second ball and caught0 -
Soooo frustrating.0
-
Smith in at his usual 7 and off the mark with a punch shot into cover
They have said Stokes will bat but we don’t know when that will be.0 -
Ffs !! 2 wickets in 2 balls. The collapse has started. England just cant help themselves can they ? Everytime they get into a position where they look like they might be getting ahead.....they lose their heads.
I'm off to bed. Expect to see the Aussies batting by close of play.

Stokes has pads on in the dressing room so possibly in next at 80

250 up for England, lead by 67.
250-5
Bethell 117
Smith 191 -
264-5 at drinks - lead by 81.
Bethell 123
Smith 260 -
Well batted Jacob Bethell. A ray of hope for the future. He's always been technically sound - it's using Test cricket to find your game that has been the issue. Need him to not give it up now though it's more of a concern that those batting with him will do so.1
-
Run out first ball after drinks. Smith gone at the non strikers end.
264-60 -

Stokes is out to bat at 8.0
-
The curse of the drinks break. Stokes batting on one leg without a runner will be interesting.0
-
Stokes can’t run, already clear from that single they took
And he’s in pain ducking bouncers from Labuschagne0 -
267-7
Stokes edges Webster to slip0 -
And that’s what happens when your commentators are not at the ground1
-
And then Stokes gets out anyway0
-
It was always going to be an impossibility for Stokes to bat for any period of time without being able to move his feet.1
-
Suspect Bethell goes attacking here and if he gets out so be it. We need at least another 70-80 to have any chance and we won’t get those from Carse, Potts and Tongue.1
-
BT commentator is having a nightmare.
They showed a replay of the Smith dismissal and he thought it was live and Stokes had gone the same way and said England are falling apart. He then realised it was a replay and said 'it's ok. Stokes is still there'just as Webster's ball to Stokes was caught by Smith!

England lead exceeds 100 as Carse hits Head down the ground for 4
285-70
