As a Kent fan i think Crawley is lucky to be in the team, his 5 innings i think so far he has scored 106 or so runs. This is not good enough at test level. We lose too many early wickets and the middle order has to bail us out.
I’ve not opened this thread since Jan. Live view from the ground. The water taps are free but very slow. If you’re in the Edrich or Compton good luck with this heat. Many reports of sun stroke. We’re in mound towards back and lovely breeze. Lunch on nursery was only bearable for about 7 minutes.
Cider is refreshing.
I'm under cover in the Mound stand tomorrow. So glad I'm not in the open.
In a restricted view seat, but the view is decent enough.
If Pant's injury recovers to the extent that he is fit enough to bat, having had his feet up for the majority of the England innings, should he be denied a substitute when (if) England bat again?
There should be a ban from fielders switching the bails. Didn't like it when Broad did it and liked it even less when Siraj just did it. The equipment has nothing to do with them and it's pure gamesmanship. Equally, the umpires have a duty to then check that they have been put back properly.
It's really frustrating because you want Bumrah to be a Siraj type character that you can dislike but it's impossible to do so because he's a thoroughly decent human being. How many times do we ever see him in the face of the batsman? Never, because he lets his bowling do the talking.
Shut up Gill and get on with and stop trying to copy Kohli in every respect in arguing with the umpire. You asked for the ball to be changed and that's what you got!
I know the ball was slightly out of shape as was shown when it wouldn't go through the rings. But it was behaving perfectly for the bowlers I thought they should have persevered with it
