Not keen on Mannion for either of their goals , first one he’s fannying pushing their player and getting drawn to near to that side and  his hands are too low , it’s past him in a flash but better positional sense and he’d have had a better chance

second goal I feel a step or two out to lessen the angle increases his chances but was a good finish .

im looking for perfection but these to me are basics as an ex keeper, once my knees started giving way .
Read recently that the thinking/coaching on this has changed. Instead of moving forward to close the angle keepers are encouraged to stay back and gain more time to react. Seems like cobblers to me but that’s the theory

First goal was just an excellent header from a well worked corner, blame if anyone goes to no-one trying to get to the first ball, but really nothing we could do once it was goalbound.
Second was more that Mannion was left alone one-on-one, like the first goal, just well executed, and we would have been drooling if we scored either one of those, perfection...🤷‍♂️

I was most disappointed by him of all our team yesterday - distribution poor and not dominant defensively in any sense. He's meant to have been brilliant at Reading, but struggling to see why based on his early performances. Appreciate he's rusty right now but we don't really have time for him to find form and think we may have seen the last of him in a charlton shirt

Even with your dodgy knees you’re probably better than either Mannion or AMB. Regardless of the division we’re in next season we need an upgrade in goal.

The 2 things that turned our season around were the 2 things missing yesterday - an attacking threat with pace on both sides of the pitch, one of which being TC and Lloyd Jones. It’s as simple as that. If Leaburn wasn't injured we may have been able to patch it up but in the circumstances and having failed to bring that extra 'winger' in that we all knew was so vital should an injury to TC or small occur, Jones had few options. I think the plan was to stodge it out first half and then try and win it in the second with Chucks. Unfortunately we were 2 down by then. Hopefully TC and Jones are back and raring to go for the play offs - if not, we're toast.
Bang on this, I’ve been crying for wingers all season. Jones finally changed the mess he started us off with in December and started playing 2. we have then been on this amazing run playing some really good football in spells and was completely shocked when he didn’t at least buy one more in Jan. TC now being injured we looked like the team from the first 18 or so games again.  Relying on going gung ho with chucks coming on to cause havoc.

Hope I’m wrong but I have a horrible feeling that TC’s injury is worse then what he Jones is letting on, maybe that’s why he looked even more mental then normal in his interview. If it is we could be bang in trouble.
My thoughts exactly re TC. Weren't we told when Leaburn first got injured it was a tight quad and nothing more. 3 weeks later NJ let's slip at a pre match press conference that he's out for the season. Tues night TC's "injury" was cramp. Repeated again at a pre-match presser, but now its a calf issue. Also Kanu was seen wearing a protective boot although (again led to believe) that 3 weeks ago he had turned his ankle.

And dont get me on about the transfer window in January. We could all see we were a couple of injuries away from being back to our early season team selections. But NJ (and it the ckub) knew best. Lets slim the squad and IN NJ'S WORDS happy to use the Academy to fill any gaps.

But yesterday comes along and no Academy lads are drafted in. Dixon is on the bench and Anderson is shoehorned in at left wing. Square pegs in round holes. I think that's what NJ was referring to in his (short & abrasive) post match interview. Tried to take the safe option instead of trying a youngster in their favoured position.

We need to win every game. The play offs are no way certain & if we drop more points over Easter we then have 2 tough away games.

And next weeks game is against a Neil Harris side. Don't expect Cambridge to lay down & let us win.

    Edit.

Also meant to mention James Collins. Experienced striker Lincoln signed in the January window......where as we decided Hylton was the ex-Luton player to sign instead. Especially bewildering when Ahadme was shown to be not up to scratch, Leaburn was getting over a long term injury and Chuks can't last more than 45 mins and often looks like he's running in glue.

Who sets the added time, the ref or the fourth official?  If the latter, there’s a lot of misplaced ire on the scores thread.

Shout out to the that infront of me in Row A of the West Lower who kept standing up so I couldn't see. I asked him to sit down and he told me to stand up too, then when I showed him my crutches and told him I couldn't, he got mouthy and told me I wasn't a Charlton fan as I wasn't standing up. What weird and sad behaviour
Every club has its share of total tossers sadly.

    Even in the West!

I always thought it was the ref. He communicates how long he’s adding as a minimum to the 4th official who puts it on the board.

Illustrates how important L Jones, TC and Coventry are.

The first two were out and the third had his worse game for a while.

Coventry somehow got man of the match in the lounges 🤷‍♂️ I’m guessing the match sponsor were his parents .

Coventry was poor and came 9th on the CL stats.

I find Berry frustrating, so much ability.
Perhaps it had more to do with Lincoln man marking him McGrandles was excellent stopping the ball getting to him and closing him down everytime he looked dangerous …. It not always down to us but the other team tactics
I dunno just wish he would chip in with a few goals now n then

We got a point and need to put this one to bed! Positives is we had the character to gave it a go and the noise from the Covered End must have given the players a real lift!

NJ, please don't play Karoy in that position again, and hopefully, by the time we play Cambridge the team will be up for it!

Take my hat off to Godden who kept going and drove us forward when he had the ball👍

Yes we need an upgrade in first choice keepers but both these keepers have been part of a defensive unit that has done a great job keeping clean sheets this season. And with all due respect to Oohaah they are going to be way better than him with his dodgy knees!

Saturday emphasised my view that our first 11 displays a good jigsaw picture but if you lost just one or two of those pieces, it just doesn’t look right.

We are very ‘best 11’ dependent .

Was just thinking the same. Anderson had a good impact last Tuesday, and could see why selected, but wasn’t effective at all and gave away an easy pass in the middle of the pitch which unfortunately led to their corner and goal. McIntyre did a job last Tuesday also, but looked a bit sloppy and made a bad error for the 2nd goal. Jones and Campbell were big losses to the starting 11. Need to pick ourselves up, get the win this week, and that should be close to confirming a playoff spot. Then we can push for whatever’s left for the taking.

I really rate Coventry but thought that was one of his worst games for us, consistently gave the ball away with short/slow passes - he just couldn't get going Saturday

for the first goal he was more worried about their No 27 right in front of him - we needed someone other than Anderson on him giving more back

My one takeaway if I had to pick just one, is that I think Dixon needs to play when Campbell can't. The lad needs mens football and he has the creativity and skill to be able to cause problems even if he is a bit lightweight.

He gave it away twice early on, yes, but he had an absolutely brilliant second half

He was much better in the second half but definitely a poor first half. I think all 3 midfielders struggled first half, mainly due to the lack of TC to be an outlet for them to find. Berry has been playing really well recently and the link up between him, Godden and TC has been brilliant but he really struggled on Saturday without TC to find. Was better second half as although a different type of outlet to TC, we had Chuks on that we could move the ball forwards to

Clean sheet with Wycombe having 17 shots (although only 4 on target)

It's all about opinions but try watching the goals conceded in other games including the Premier; So many mistakes made every week by the men between the sticks.
Mannion is a decent keeper as was the Lincoln keeper. Both were left exposed for the goals though i thought Wickens made a great save from Godden but his positioning could've been better for Docherty's goal.
Mannion's save just before the HT whistle was vital or otherwise we could've been 3-0 down after McIntyre's missed tackle early in 2nd half.

I wouldn't want Oohaah in goal for walking football; he would go missing for a crap and give stick to his team mates for being slow 😀

He stood no chance with either but the save he made at the end of the first half was top drawer as he saw it very late ..
