Really good rumour and would be one of, if not our best player Galbraith.
Orient obviously leaking it hoping to start a bidding war, but hopefully we come back with a better offer. Swansea are very interested and been knocked back before, looks like they'd be the main competition.
He was the best player at Wembley, would be bloody lovely if we could get him.
Do we know that Swansea are even still interested? They bid for him in January but their manager at the time was sacked in February. New manager might have other targets.
The link to us said they were interested I think. He’s the kind of signing a DOF would push for regardless of manager as his sell on potential is very high

Uh oh...expect the next few pages to be filled with an AI-led defence case.
Think Rich Cawley all but killed any hope. Just think he would be too expensive and have suitors that can offer much more than us. Would love to see him back though
Whilst it's never going to be cheap, we could do a lot worse that cherry-picking some of the better players from L1 that could clearly make the step up.
Galbraith and Keillor-Dunn both impressed me last season on multiple occasions. They both have just had stand out seasons and will likely be considering their options for Championship football, given the seasons they had. Orient will only need their arms twisting a little bit, whereas Keillor-Dunn is the crown jewel for Barnsley, so we'd need a bit more for him.
If we're serious about staying up, I think players of their calibre (and above) are who we should be after and in the market for. Both can be flexible in terms of positioning and add quality to the squad - we can and should be able to pay for salaries and decent wage bumps for both. They are both players on the up, rather than those that tumble from other "bigger" clubs that are just looking for a pay day - think players like McGeady.
Still think we'd also like to add some more pace to the team too, but if these are the names we are potentially looking at, I'm not unhappy at all so far.

Apart from anything else, quality L1 players are probably our best chance of strengthening the team, as they'll see us (as a Championship club) as a step up, whereas most current Championship players would see us (as a newly promoted side) as a step down...
Load of bollocks sadly. They've seen he used to play here and spun a couple of hundred words of nonsense out of it.
AI eh, 🙄
Most likely, I imagine that we might end up seeing an only very slightly different "article" written about Bielik or some other ex player before too long.

Knibbs would be another one i'd love to get.
Hopefully wouldn’t take too much of a bite out of the budget.

Reading slapped a 2M price tag on Charlie Savage so doubt they would even consider anything under that for Knibbs. Looks like we’re willing to spend but trying to be smart with it. DKD and Knibbs obviously great players but would cost their peak value are very expensive and have less resale potential. Whereas someone like Galbraith we could get for significantly under his market value has a much higher ceiling rather than being in the prime and has big resale potential. Jack Rudoni from Wimbledon to Huddersfield to Coventry would be a prime example of this Galbraith move and Huddersfield made a 4M profit even with relegation we could very easily do the same
I'd sooner we pay (say) £3Million for a Galbraith type rather than spend the same cash on a couple of decent but less gifted players .. we need quality more than we need quantity
Would imagine that Charlton are pissed off with Orient releasing that a bid had been made, would not be a great surprise to withdraw our offer and go after other targets .. perhaps see what the situation is in the final few hours of the window given he only across the river .. and Orient might be a little more desperate
Can’t see it happening with Barnsley in a position to demand absolute millions and they don’t often sell their best players for cheap. We’re clearly willing to spend since the Galbraith bids come out but I’m not sure Jones thinks DKD would be the best use of the budget. Already have 2 CAM’s in Carey and Berry so have depth there and up top he’s very similar to what we have in terms of Godden TC Kanu etc. if we’re going to bring in a striker surely it would be a target man as our only options are Ahadme who less said about the better and Leaburn who despite his build can’t do that Paticular role well. Would be shocked if we don’t start the season with a Carlton Morris kind of player up top
Thought Leaburn did a superb and thankless job of leading the line in that brutal, hideous away draw at Stockport.
I'd give them Ahadme in exchange and really piss them off.
If we have offered 1.3 million and Orient have turned it down we should raise it to 1.5 million plus Ahadme. Kelman's back at QPR so they need another striker. 🤨

Doubtful though. In 2025 i don't think you can really be angry at a club for leaking a bid because it's naive to think Galbraith's agent won't have told other interested clubs anyway.
I know that Rich said we're looking to do things 'cloak and dagger' but i'd say that's quite tough because the agent will almost certainly be alerting other clubs (especially ones with more money than us) as it's in his interest to have more clubs bidding.

I am also hoping that it means there are other options/positions also being considered that have not yet been leaked (by either side.)
Rak-Sakyi return? Any chance or wishful thinking?
