It’ll no doubt be a financial hit for the club whatever but that’s not his fault. I think he’ll find a loan club in league one or if not two with us paying more than the lions share of wages. He had better than one in three at Cambridge before he came to us so I’m sure they might show interest and others will be aware of that.
He has just been promoted with us, played his part in the play-offs and has had some good moments with us.
I think that's a good send off for him, and we are going to need that extra slot cause I can't see us shifting someone like Ahadme.
We will get rid of Ahadme , whether it’s a loan or termination . Being a championship club makes it more likely someone will take a punt on him, at least on loan.
And yes - Chuks should and will go , with huge thanks for his good season in 2020/21 and his affable nature .

I believe Gassan Ahadme might be moving on to doing property. He set up his own company in February

Are you saying he might retire? At 24, with 3 years to run on a 4 year deal??😂
From a Millwall family. Lot of Scots and Irish blood in SE London thanks to the Surrey and Woolwich docks and surrounding industries. So whether you were jesting or not, it probably is (a strong SE London name). Indeed, the Millwall half of my family have a Scottish clan name!
Sorry, I am a social history lover. Back to transfers!

I didn't know you were from a millsmall family. You've never mentioned it before 😉

My take on Miles from queries above. I think his hamstring injury has impacted his pace, probably permanently.
So now he is just a big player (physicality he doesn't use) poor in the air for his height, with quick feet, a measure of intimidation for inexperienced defenders and a decent shot.
Mbick's self-confessed USP is he's a "handful" which I expect him to be in mens football with a bit more experience. He is not slow, and he is combative.
With regards to Gilbert I certainly echo what most are concerned about, that being his stamina and physicality but there’s a talented footballer there. A proper Nathan Jones pre season and some time bulking up in the Gym and we might see a player worth retaining. No idea if he’s on Jones radar and given Jones’s comment about wanting athleticism and experience I suspect not but I wouldn’t be too disappointed if he were.

HE'S 24??? I thought he was Aneke's age fucking hell
Just read Lloyd Jones is going to Birmingham for £1.9 million.I hope it’s a scam.It would be madness.
Where did you read that? Honestly every player has a price and I don’t think 2m is far off an acceptable offer for Lloyd. The question would be how much would a decent replacement cost and would it be worth the upheaval.
The other question the player would have to answer is whether they want to be a key piece of the team here, or a bench warmer there.
This is the supposed LJ to Birmingham link but it looks completely fake to me. Nothing from Sky to suggest it at all, re-using a header image from FLW and the last sentence says Birmingham are in L1!
With regard to Gilbert, who certainly has qualities, I wonder if those qualities puts clear daylight between him and Karoy Anderson. If I was choosing between the two I would certainly go for an academy graduate like Anderson. On the other hand if it was between Anderson and a signing with the quality of, say, Barry Bannon then the differences at the moment would be more marked. Surely any incomings now have to be quite clearly a fair bit better than what we've got, and I don't see Gilbert as that.
As much as Lloyd Jones has been fantastic this season, Birmingham will be aiming for better players. They have stated ambition to get promoted again next season, Jones is definitely a championship level player but I think Birmingham will be aiming for even better than that

I think they're two very different players, even if they play in similar positions or similar roles in the team.
Anderson's strengths are his aggression, winning the ball, ability in the air, work rate, fitness etc, and he's starting to show his ability on the ball - something I don't think we've fully seen due to adapting to men's football, confidence, consistency, all those things many young players have to develop as they step up.
Gilbert's stronger areas are where Anderson has struggled - his touch, control, passing, while he has a natural eye for a killer pass which while Anderson can show more in time, is never likely to be the best part of his game. Gilbert is the opposite, he needs to develop that defensive part of his game if he wants to play regularly for a manager like NJ.
It's going to be interesting to see how both progress in the next few years, even if Gilbert doesn't return to us.
Re: Galbraith of Orient, I know they turned down 1m for him from Swansea in Jan
Def the type of player we should be going for though
It’s going to be bloody tough without 6/7 real quality additions imo
as well as the team did this season, this is a massive step up. Godden has been class and is absolutely worth keeping, but Coventry, a competitive team in the championship felt it was the right time to move him on. Similar Docherty. I like both of them, but thinking 6 years on from when we were last in the championship, it seems like it’s even harder.
You can’t argue with NJ’s approach and how it’s got us out this league and the focus on clean sheets, but I’m thinking, replicating that type of approach with the current players against some of the teams we’re gonna be up against 🤯 - going to be very tough
Pretty sure someone said Galbraith is out of contract this summer
Galbraith is out of contract this summer as is Malik Mothersille at Peterborough. Only 21 but big, strong and has an eye for goal - would be well worth a look
Will Luton have a fire sale after relegation? I would certainly like Aasgard for £1m. Last year of parachute payments.
Really rate Aasgard and I don’t think he’ll want to be back in league one as he was Luton’s best player in the championship when he went there. But he only went there in January and reckon he’ll feel like he owes them at least half a season to see if they’re coming back up. If there’s any chance at a sensible price though, I think he’d suit Nathan Jones’s style really well.
I’ve no inside information on who we might be signing this summer. But, on the way out of Wembley, I was eavesdropping on a conversation between my mate and a coach in the academy (who he knows) and the word on the street is we won’t be splashing too much cash in the summer window - we will be spending some. But interestingly, we have come under pressure, presumably from parents, to sell some of our Crown Jewels in the younger age groups. He said 3 U13 players had gone to Newcastle, Arsenal and Everton for combined fees of c£1.3m. Just passing on what I heard ..

Orient have a year option on Galbraith
Didn’t they turn down a £1 million bid for him in January ? With one year they’ll be a rush for him in January and a £ million then might do it but they’ll be a lot of interest in him .

Lesecond Yeutembip aged 14 went to Newcastle. Would have been under EPPP rules so unlikely to be more than £20-30K I suspect.

He signed a new contact with us a few months ago and I'd imagine he gets another good increase due to promotion.
